I am selling niche software through my website. My USP (Unique Selling Proposal) is basically that my support staff helps people find the specific software that meets their unique requirements by personally interacting with them via phone or live support (thereby saving them time and money). I would like an image on my front page that communicates this USP effectively.

Here are a few formats that I like, but I look forward to seeing other ideas...

[Image: My Staff] "+" [Image: Customer] "=" [Image: Final Package]
"USP in quotes"

[Image: Complicated Image] "->" [Image: My Staff] "->" [Image: Final Package]
"USP in quotes"

Image size is 530px x 187px. Blue, glassy iconic images would fit in best with the website-- similar to Windows XP icon style. Payment via PayPal. Contest ends on Friday the 17th, or when I see an entry that I like.

Please post or PM any questions. Thanks!

I wasn't exactly sure how you wanted the "USP" Text so I tried it like this...

I can change it easily if you want something a little different.

My Design

Hey. Here is my idea for the design:

edit:

sorry...I had to update this due to some picture conflicts...it is fixed now.

I can change anything to however you want it. I too was not sure about where you wanted the usp, so I can move it if you want. I went for a more professional look...I'm not sure if that was how you wanted it, but I thought I would give it a try.
I hope you like it!

Sorry for the delayed reply. The entries so far look good, but I'm looking for something that uses "icons" instead of photos. JustMadMike has the right idea as far as the icon style I'm looking for...

The whole point of this is to show the customer our "most wanted response" (in marketing terms) which is this:

1. Customer visits site.
2. Customer chats with our reps, who determine their needs and make product recommendations.
3. Customer buys products through our site.

So I need something to show this process graphically. That's all. Ideally something that a customer could glance at and understand. Those were my ideas above, but I'm very open to other concepts. That's the reason I came here.

I plan on creating the rest of the graphic myself (all the USP thing was meant to mean was an area for me to put my USP text in myself).

Thanks, JustMadMike.

Staff icon looks good to me - maybe a headset on the people to emphasize the fact that they are talking over the phone/internet. Looks good though - I look forward to the seeing the end result.

They were actually .ico files or desktop icons when I got them. I then converted them to images and edited a whole bunch for a more clear-smooth look. But I did make the "+", "=", and background myself, so yea.

Well this shoudnt be alowed? Again, ill wait till to see what the contest holder says. Surely copyright would be a problem. I wont carry on till this is clear.

Thanks,
JustMadMike.

Even if those were only influenced by the actual icons, it'd still be an infringement.

DadaDesign -- Are those icons licensed? Even if you buy them, some licenses only permit you to use them for your own work (so it wouldn't include use in images you are selling to others). I need everything to be legal here obviously, so please clarify whether or not you have the right to use them.

Assuming everything is legally right, there's just one issue I have with the actual design... you use two different "types" of people for the customer and my reps - could they possible be made to look the same? So, the customer would look like one of the reps do now, but without the headset? And also, maybe a question mark above the customers head - since the goal of the company is to take the confusion out of purchasing this type of software.

JustMadMike -- I really liked what you had so far, I'd be very interested in seeing the rest of your concept if you are willing to continue.

Thanks for the entries.

I got the icons from here http://interfacelift.com/icons-win

There free for download. So if you still want them, just let me know. I can try making my own, but the end result may vary...
