Three and four character .in have no value.
All three letter .in have been taken, and have value of at least reg fee.
Four letter .in value depends on the domain -- words/geos are most likely to have value. Random LLLL.in have no value.

LLL.IN - All registered

LLLL.IN - Dictionary words, almost gone, check my blog for the latest list and the available in the comments on that.

LLLL.IN - cvcv or vcvc type - not recommended atm, too long a hold imho.

L-L.IN - All registered

L-N.IN - only one was left (z-0.in)

N-L.IN - Available, again not recommended

Dictionary words (regardless of length to a max. of 12 letters) that have some business purpose are a good buy in .IN

.CO.IN - LLL, LLLL, Dictionary, tons left - but no idea about ROI.

Good Luck

Why N-L.in is not recommended to register? Any reason? Thanks :)
jmho is all.

I think it will take more than a couple of years to get any value out of these.

But who listens to me in any case :)

BTW what is the rush in buying domains ? only this buying is raising their price. as a consiquence we can't buy/get that domain which we can work better on.

what you say ?

I think you answered your own question.

You buy good names to develop so that you can, then they become scarce, thats how the value increases.

Very true. As Supply is always limited here in domain industry (considering the good ones), we should be happy to be a part of it from it's infant stage.

Now treat your .in /.co.in domain as your baby and expect a little invetsment in coming years till it grows up.

We all here have a greatexpectation from .in/.co.in and its a matter of not more then 2-3 years when not even the worst generics will be available.

I had lain.in and got an offer of $200 on Sedo, so there is a market for LLLL.in words. I don't see the .in market being big on random llll.in names yet, so I would invest in other keyword names if you can find them at the moment.
