As some of our 'older' members may remember, last holiday season NamePros hosted a Domains For Charity event. The Domains for Charity event is aimed at helping provide gifts for the less fortunate during the holidays.
Last year, a NamePros account was set up for NameBuck (NP$) donations from members of the forum and NameBucks were collected to be sold for real money. 100% of the proceeds from the sales went towards purchasing gifts for children around the country.
Along with the NP$ sales, gift giving was also made possible by domain name donations. Forum members donated thier unused (or gently used
) domain names to be later auctioned in a live chat event. Unlike the usual NamePros auctions, these domains were auctioned for real money instead of NP$, and all proceeds were used to buy more gifts for the less fortunate.
More information about this year's event will be posted here shortly. In the meantime, send your NP$ donations to DomainsForCharity through the NamePros store or click here to donate. An informational page will soon be setup where you can find the account names at various registrars to which you can push your domain donations.
The exact auction date has yet to be determined, but it will most likely be in early December.
