2nd Annual Domains for Charity Event

As some of our 'older' members may remember, last holiday season NamePros hosted a Domains For Charity event. The Domains for Charity event is aimed at helping provide gifts for the less fortunate during the holidays.

Last year, a NamePros account was set up for NameBuck (NP$) donations from members of the forum and NameBucks were collected to be sold for real money. 100% of the proceeds from the sales went towards purchasing gifts for children around the country.

Along with the NP$ sales, gift giving was also made possible by domain name donations. Forum members donated thier unused (or gently used ) domain names to be later auctioned in a live chat event. Unlike the usual NamePros auctions, these domains were auctioned for real money instead of NP$, and all proceeds were used to buy more gifts for the less fortunate.

More information about this year's event will be posted here shortly. In the meantime, send your NP$ donations to DomainsForCharity through the NamePros store or click here to donate. An informational page will soon be setup where you can find the account names at various registrars to which you can push your domain donations.

The exact auction date has yet to be determined, but it will most likely be in early December.

i've posted a thread on expired domain forum , where i give everyday the list of 4 number domains which expires the next day ....
if someone is interested by that list and register one of them , he can donate some NP$ ...
all $np that i receive this way , i'll give them to this charity .....

It looks like we'll be holding the event next Wednesday starting around 2PM Pacific Time / 5PM Eastern. I hope everyone can attend! We'll have a Christmas party and a live domain auction for the children.

If you have one to spare, please step up and donate a good domain name for the cause. Last year we were able to raise $800 that went to buying gifts for underprivileged kids, many of who live in group homes and homeless shelters. Hopefully we can do as well or better this year! I have made arrangements with the charity and will be posting the names and artwork of some of the kids we'll be getting presents for.
