A couple of days ago I registered these three names, just out of curiosity...

I really love the great games YetiSport, and I visit their site www.yetisports.org a lot.
(I can really recommend it if you haven't tried it, but beware, it can be HIGHLY addictive.. :))

But I kept mistyping the name to yetisport.org (without the s in the end) a lot..

Strangely enough the name was not registered, so I registered
YetiSport.org
YetiSport.com
YetiSport.net

And I was not surprised that they recived a lot of type-ins
That game is VERY popular (at least here in Europe)

.org got 1500+ unique type-ins yesterday, .com about 500 and .net about 60....

There are several misspelled links to the .org, and I have noticed that several of the visits does also come from e-mails (with misspelled domain names...)

The names are now redirected to one of my websites, with an explanation, disclaimer and a link to the yetisports site...
A quick search on google also reveales that there are several companies/sites worldwide that's called something with yeti and sport, so there shouldn't be any TM issues either (I hope...)

I'm not very interested in selling these names, and making them end up pointing to any sleazy pornsites etc....
I have also mailed the owner of the yetisports site, to inform him about the situation.

I'm just curious what they could be worth..

As some add on information I can tell that 2 yetisport games are out now, and they plan to release 8 more..
So the domains should be popular well into the near future...

What do you think? :gn: ??

I dont know anything about the site yetisports.org and if they are powerful enough to have good lawyers or even the desire to go through this route.

Any domains with this much type in traffic is great - point it to sedo.co.uk / sedo.us and get some money from it maybe?

Or then again, once contacting yetisports.org, sell at a very high price if they are interested... ;)

Wow you're a lucky guy! Are you sure they're all pure type-ins?
I live in Europe too, but I haven't heard of YetiSports yet.

Almost all of them are type-ins.
A few are from links, and some from e-mails.

If you haven't heard of the game you should visit them and try it.
It's great... (and addictive) :kickass

Anyone with a guess on price yet??

I have already been offered high $xxx for them. B-)
The traffic alone could get you $xx pr day if you used it right...
(but I wont do that now...)

Ha Ha Ha

Low $xx wholesale? That person probably wants to get you to sell your names to him cheap.. Hahaha...

1,000 hits should get you a few dollars. So, you should be able to rake in a few dollars a day. Even if you only raked in on average 1 dollar a day, 1000 hits a day would get you about $350+ a year.

Park it on a domain auction site and someone who buys traffic names will probably spot it in the site's search after a few months and pick it up from you.

Here are some other names that SOLD recently on another forum for you to consider. These get their traffic from existing links and were probably deleted names that were registered again.

stratusphere.org 269/day $500

sccollege.org 155/day $180

tux4kids.org 181/day - $200

naotd.org 133/day - $180

:]

I'm redirecting them to one of my sites now, and I have put an explanation about them there, with a link to the yetisports site..

I'm waiting for an e-mail reply from the guys there now, so I'm not going to park them anywhere else (yet).

But getting a few :$: a day from them are no problem, so selling them for $xx is....:bah:

Selling them for $xxxx should be no problem, when I see the offers I already have received...
(but I'm not selling, just curious about how much they COULD be worth...:] )

i checked out yetisports.org and the typos u gave.
could not find any traffic , and also checked overture with the extension. nothing - 0.

even a domain with a few hits a day will show up. but this didnt.

also alexa shows something strange. the traffic is non existant untill this week. middle of february. possibly from all the advertising your doing on forums ?

i may be wrong, but either this is a hoax. or the site is 2 weeks old and had very strong publicity /links suddenly.

i just checked overture in germany and europe, that is where the game is based ? most google sites seem german

overture is 380 for yetisports , very low if your getting 2000 type ins for a mispelling on it. with the .org it gets 0

:bingo:

The original yetisports.org site is only a couple of weeks old, and it has got a LOT of publisity in news papers, news sites etc. since the launch of the second game.
It's based in switzerland, and about 40% of the visitors I get are from there..

they used the original name www.e-medien.com to the site first, you can check that one and see that it gets a lot of traffic.
Now they use the .org, but they have also got the yetisports.net, that's why my .net also gets some traffic....
(and why the .com gets traffic should be obvious...)

You can't trust overture when it comes to new sites, the results there are old (last month, or older)...

I can assure you that this is not a scam!
(and I can prove it if I want to..)
And I haven't posted these names anywhere else than here..
But they do get several mistyped links from other sites too....

I'd say high $xxx because of the huge traffic and potential profit.

Well, good to hear you got those offers -- but I still don't see the appeal of the site or get the idea behind it...
