.mobi $2000 offer received for federal.mobi, what should I do?

Hello NP members,

Received an offer of $2000 for federal.mobi on Afternic.com.

And $300 for FACULTY.MOBI.

What should I do?

if i were you i would make a counter-offer
a reasonable one for both names... the buyer will probably negotiate with you your offer and you can give a discount in the price you asked for the names
be careful with your counter-offer or you can lose the sales

Sell ...just sell (the 2K one..) that's a fair bid in my opinion.

Sell federal at that price I think. Faculty might be a bit low but is also a reasonable offer.

Congratulations. I'd sell federal--$2,000 seems reasonable since the .com is parked and I can't think of any great intuitive meaning/use for it, particularly in a mobile context.

Regarding faculty, I'd counter with $1,000. Who cares if you lose the buyer, since $300 was too low anyway. GL.

The offer for faculty is indeed too low, counter with 1k and hope to call it a day with a decent 3k in sales.

I agree with those above who say take the $2000 on Federal and counter with something like $1000 on Faculty.

If it's the same buyer, they may appreciate your not asking for too much on Federal and may be more willing to lean more your way on Faculty...

I like the advice of taking the higher offer and countering on the lower

(I don't know your financial situation, but I hope to make a good name sale myself just like this soon, about 2K I need, to re-register 200 .mobis for renewal time.. cashing in on one good name, like of Federal calibur, could be very useful and timely for this - something for us all to consider..)

I agree. Take the 2k for federal and hold out for more on faculty. I would'nt take $500 for faculty but 1k sounds good!

Hmmm. Federal.mobi is a pretty good price. If you have no idea as to who the buyer is, I'd say sell. If there is any way to make a reasonable guess, that may open the door for some negotiation. Looks like most of the other extensions are parked, not developed. .com and .net seem similar, though maybe coincidentally registered at network solutions....dunno. I say sell and run.

In my opinion you should never, ever, accept the first offer, and always counter. Countering is however "tricky." If you are nervous to lose the buyer then counter close to the offer. On a 2K counter with 2600, how can you go wrong? That is not offensive. The buyer theoretically should go up some and then close the deal. At least it will be more than 2K and everyone is happy.
