Navigation Design Contest

Design Brief:

I'm looking for a navigation that is 'eye candy' and nice to look at. I would like it to be glossy/shiny/glass-like and have a somewhat 3D-ish/non-tacky embossed effect to it, but not too over the top.

I've attached an image of the windows media button, which is an example of one that I like.

Style/Shape: I would like the buttons to be 'folder'-like styles, so they are rounded rectangles. A bit like www.play.com, www.fasthosts.co.uk (but rounded), www.amazon.com etc, but of course not copied.

Colours: Corporate Blues/Silver

Prize: $20 (PayPal)

End of Contest: 19/08/2005 (gives time for revisions etc)

Please Note: I'm just looking for images, no code or anything.

At the moment I'm not too bothered about seeing the whole navigation, perhaps you could just give me an example of a button and its rollover (you may want to show two buttons next to each other to show perhaps a shadows effect you might be using).

I don't really see much changed apart from a few white circles and alines added and playing around with the brightness, please follow my design brief as much as possible. Good effort though.

Sammyloski:

You've got the sort of style/shape i'm looking for but I'm not too keen on the linear colour effect inside (diagonal?). Play around with it.

Depthskins.com:

Thats the sort of effect I'm looking for. The only problem is the colour, try to make it more corporate instead of the overly strong cyan.

Apothix:

I really like that effect, makes it look very glass like. Perhaps play around with the colours a bit (try grey or duller blues). My favourite is the second row.

No offence, but I can tell you spent ten minutes or less on it. Its too dull, theres no real glass/glossy effect. Play around with it.

Dew:

Sorry, but you've sort of lost the glass effect from before. Use your original and play around a bit more.

Sorry, its still not what I'm looking for. I can tell you've tried to make a glass-like effect but It hasn't really worked. Perhaps look for a few tutorials on it. Good effort though.

hey, its a nice simple one, i can change the colours to what ever you want really.. Also make sure to tell me if you like it or not so i can change it etc..etc..

Not bad, a bit too simple though. Perhaps play around with the design.

Its okay, but too plain. I'm not keen on the dark colour.

Virgil:

Not bad, i like the overlapping effect, try to just stick to the one button design at the moment, perhaps you could add more detail. And i'm not looking for simple, i'd like a glossy/glass effect.
