One of the advantages of the new extensions is that they can become part of a keyphrase. I remember that years ago there were several discussions about using hyphens to break up words in keyphrases, but I haven't seen anyone mention the use of dots in the new names. Of course you need one to separate out the extension, but should you use a sub-domain to introduce another separator into the keyphrase. For example, if the keyphase is " no longer in". should you register nolonger.in , or would it be better to register longer.in, so that you can use the url no.longer.in.
