Auction rules, auction is extended by 24 hours after every bid

If the auction is extended 24 hours after every bid, when exactly will the auction end? This doesn't really seem to be a clear end date and time - the auction could potentially last forever. Suggested methods are "24 hours after a final bid is placed" or fixed date/time: 12-22-07 at 10pm est.

Please just clarify.

I have run auctions in the past where once a bid is placed it starts the 24 hour clock. If someone else bids then the auction is extended by 24 hours (ends exactley 24 hours after last bid - time stamp). Can I not do this? If not I will just close it.

Gary I think it is just the wording. You both mean the same, i.e. the auction closes when there have been no new bids for 24 hours. Just a slight change to wording will get it the way it is meant to be.
