I buy 910godaddy right now am I a bad guy? Lol
It got little crazy in here eh?
To answer your question. no you aren't a bad guy. However you are misinformed about a lot of TM issues with domains.
If you did own 910godaddy, and registered it with GoDaddy, they would likely snatch it out of your account and possibly even close your account if there were any more violations. They can do these things under the registrar agreement you agree to when you buy a domain name.
You cannot register a domain with TM implications and expect to do the standard things people do to make domain sales. If I owned Pepsico.com I could not approach Pepsi with this 'great opportunity'. It is against the UDRP and you would lose the domain easily.
In 1999 there were cybersquatting laws enacted, however before that time it was truly the wild west.
Today if you register a domain that has possible TM implications you better do everything in your power to make sure you have legal legs to stand on. You cannot approach a TM owner with an opportunity to purchase a domain without demonstrating that you have fair use and registered the name in good faith. Even then, approaching a TM owner is risky.
Many many years ago c2005 I made a similar mistake where I registered an available name, offered to sell it to a party with TM, and then they sent a UDRP my way. I had no idea about the finer points of domaining, TM law or WIPO/UDRP processes at the time, so I pushed the domain to them and that was that. I did consult a lawyer friend about it, and I got bad advice; what can I say, lesson learned.
You guys are banning together against a common person chatting..... You dont know who your talking to and you dont know what ive accomplished.
Nobody is talking smack to you friend, the converse is actually true; you just got a heap of great advice.
Did you know that the hardest thing for a human being to do is to take advice from someone else? I personally found this to be true. I was like Kanye West for some time, can't tell me nothin!
It is a common occurrence when someone pops in, states their knowledge or belief, and they turn out to be misinformed or wrong. Just take it with a grain of salt, take the information here and do some research.
You will only help yourself in the long run.
I wish you continued success.
