I'm new to NP forum, howdy!

I've registered many domains since 2006, more end-user than not. Considering letting them go but not wanting to cut myself short.... figure it best to query NP for guidance.

I do have a number of domains I'll be posting in short time but to get the ball rolling I am asking for your input on one of my domains which seems to be getting okay traffic (see attach) USPATENT6630507.COM.

If there were to be a asking price what would you suggest and by what factors?

I think you should be posting this in appraisal section than in market place.

This domain resell value based on just the name would be $0.

But since there's traffic because you have a website on it, it may be worth more if you earn some revenue.

The value here is in the traffic only. The name has no value. Where is the traffic from? Thats important. You should sell it in an auction format instead of buy it now, because of the ever changing value of traffic.

~"Where is the traffic from?" The traffic is self-generated for the most part meaning that people often research the patent directly. There are several links to the site from various sources.

~As for existing traffic, is there value where it stands currently?

I assume the domain will grow in value as does its legality...

The traffic may or may not grow... as the drug becomes legal, the need to search the fine print in the patent decreases.

I'd turn it into a mini site for resources, legal information and ADS and tons of them. Talk to a few other sites too to try and get a referral bonus for legal alternatives like Salvia, and make a profit on it while you can.

Because the traffic is genuine, somebody will buy the domain for the purpose of doing what i just outlined. If you don't have the resources to do it personally (it's not worth getting a developer) then go for the auction, and highlight the traffic and sources.

IF traffic stats are accurate, those people are looking for the content of the patent itself and probably nothing else, so quite different from someone shopping for shoes. For that reason, I'm not quite sure how successful you would be at monetizing the traffic...

If you can show that it can be monetized, domain (and the site) could go up quite a bit above the current $0.

This. I'd say the legal issues section of the forum should be your next stop; not sure what the standing for a patent holder is compared to that of a trademark holder, but you certainly (ie. 100% absolutely certainly) are getting most of your traffic off of people looking for information on that person's patent.
