i need to add more BANNER ads to my Adwords campaign but my good banners are in FLASH and run from 130-415KB which is above Google's size limit of 50 KB.

is there a program or a way to compile or shrink the size down to 50KBs?

$100 NPs to the first THREE solutions,

You can use Flash Optimiser.
It easily reduces SWF files size up to 80%

.

If you have macromedia flash you can play around to optimise the size.
Firstly while creating the swf, go to "Publish Settings" and there you can have tweak the following:

1. Reduce the quality of the jpg to reduce the size considerably. You dont need a 100% for the web. If the size of the flash wont be zoomed at any point, you can bring down this setting to reduce the quality of the swf being created.

2. click on Compress Movie to optimise the size.

Next in the timeline make sure you dont create symbols for an object more than once, as you can use the same symbol across the timeline. some people create the symbol instance whereever they need to. just create One symbol instance per image and reuse the same.

p.s. send in the fla if u need i can optimise it for you ;)

Hope this helps.

Im not sure if it will work for your situation as I've not yet done anything with adwords. This will only work if the .swf can access images you have hosted. Anyhow, I've seen a flash banner that cycled through several images. The flash itself was only like 15k but the images were 100k+. The way it worked was to use actionscript to load the images on the fly. It changes the image every 15 seconds or so. If you want I'm sure I could search out the site that explained how it was done.

The advantages to this are that the .swf file loads very quickly, and also if the visitor doesn't stay on the page very long the extra bandwidth to download more images never gets used.

I am a semi-professional user of Adobe Flash 8. I have been using the program for 2 years. I may be able to optimize them if your still interested or need help.
