100M .com Registered by Year-End?

If the current registration pace keeps up, I think we will see 100 million .com domains registered by year end. That's a pretty big milestone!

Also, on my blog I note that when looking at past registration data, one of the only times there was a month/month drop in the total number of .com domains registered was in 2007, right before the stock market crash.

Anyone think there's any value in looking at .com registrations as a stock market predictor?

Yes, huge number. I still see some good keyword domains available, but you have to look hard. Foreign words/cities/names, and numerics (I consider these "keywords" because they have type-in traffic and real meanings across cultures).

But as the number continues to grow, even these finds will get harder most likely.

Haha. I'd say thats a small number given the nightmare it is to have to register one. Everything it taken nowadays.
