FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do you accept anything else apart from PayPal?

A: Yes, we do! If you're from the US or Canada, we accept Qchex.com cheques. This is a fast & easy process to pay for your hosting using cheques from your bank account, except it's paperless and online! Note, this method requires a minimum of quaterly payments (not monthly) to work.

For Canadian users only with a valid bank account, we also offer Interac/CertaPay.com Email Money Transfer service. This feature is available in most Canadian major banks (CIBC, BMO, RB, NB, SB, etc) to pay for your hosting quickly and effortlessly. Monthly options are available with this method. Contact us to get more information

For International users without a PayPal account, we have a third-party credit card processor, ShareIt/Element5 (www.shareit.com). This accepts all countries, but there is a catch: we have to charge a 16.5% transaction fee, and the payments must be minimum quaterly (every 3 mths).

2) How quickly are accounts activated?

A: As a general rule of thumb, shared hosting accounts are setup within 1-12 hours while reseller accounts are setup 12-24 hours. However, this time may vary, since placing an order during normal business hours would ensure a more quickly activated order, while at night we only have support techs available and our customer service departments are closed.

3) Can I have a trial of your services? What are your server specs, uptime reports, etc?

A: Feel free to join our official forums at http://forums.polurnet.com. Once you register, you will get access to Network Status forums, where you can see a list of our servers, their associated uptime data and server specifications. New orders are generally placed on a new server that's not listed there or the last server listed. Specifications include Dual Xeon 3.0Ghz processors, 2GB of RAM, RAID diskspace, and daily backups.

For a trial, we give a money-back gurantee of 10 days usually, however if you'd like a trial we can extend it to 20 days. So you pay for your services, and if you feel it's not meeting your needs or have other requirements, you may cancel anytime before the 20-day period. Contact our sales department for more information.

4) How big of a company are you, can my sites be trusted with you?

A: We've been in the hosting business since 2003 directly under our parent company, CIAN Technologies Worldwide. PolurNET Communications, a division of CIAN Tech, was founded in 2004, to meet the additional needs of our clients. We began to have a boost in customers since early 2005, when our new, revamped website was introduced, and reseller plans were created.

Since then, we have attracted over 120 customers, in both shared and reseller hosting services; total domains hosted exceed 1000.

We have a strong reputation with a flawless track record of serving our customers and always exceeding their expectations. We employ a full-time staff to ensure that the servers are taken care of around the clock, and support or sales queries are handled as fast as possible (usual response time is 1 hr or less; guaranteed reply within 12 hrs). We're also expanding by creating new divisions (such as ResellerMax.com and RapidName.com), so we are definately committed in serving our clients to the fullest.

Thanks for all NamePros members who made our (expensive) ad campaign a success! We now even have our beloved NP administrator, -RJ-, trying out our services! :tu: :great:

Note, people now have two options in choosing where they are hosted on our two datacenters:

1) Our primary datacenter servers, at NAC, which most of our resellers are currently located. The servers boast Dual Intel Xeon 3.0Ghz processors, and great server upkeep, uptimes, and security (such as daily backups). However, the only limitation is that reseller accounts get to host only a LIMITED amount of domains/accounts in WHM (not unlimited contrary to our website, now listed at http://www.polurnet.com/reseller/index_nac.php )

This is due to the fact that we have taken a measure to prevent abusers from hosting hundreds of accounts (like 2000 in one case) on a single small reseller package; this new policy makes the servers more reliable, secure and minimal technical issues compared to our second option. You can upgrade the account at anytime if you choose to have more domains. The quota ratio is 25 WHM domains per 1 GB of space.

2) Unlimited domains are available only at our secondary datacenter, LAYEREDTECH (www.layeredtech.com), and has DUAL Intel Pentium 4 processors at 3.0Ghz. This is good option too, and all new customers, unless otherwise requested, are placed here now. However, the only disadvatage at the moment is no RVSkin available yet, but it will come soon!

If you do not notify our sales staff (sales[at]polurnet.com) after ordering (state your domain and username) of which option you'd like, you will be defaulted to our secondary datacenter. However, if you let us know, then we can assign you to the appropriate option you selected.

There is NO transaction fee (unless the payment we receive leads to bank fees); all payments must be drawn on a $USD Bank Account and the order must be approved before we activate your hosting order.

To place your order using such a method, send us a ticket to sales[at]polurnet.com with your desired payment option and we will let you know how to proceed.
