Just wanted to let you know I had an offer by a huge food brand to do pre-rolls on my food catagory .tv site for $5.00 a view.


If I had been working on the site and building up the community it would have been a great opportunity.

But it got me thinking.....

Sounds like those spam emails I get asking for trade in links on a domain that is not even parked...explain in detail please and were you in talks at all with them at any time?

It's a free magnify site, with video. It's not ranked unless you add tv in your search, then it's page one. It's more about building the community in this case to build traffic and rank, which I haven't done.

The offer was legit, and $5 per pre-roll, for a couple of months with the possibility of extending that time. The offer came from a well known video advertising company, out of the blue. We talked on the phone.

interesting news. $5/per is amazing, nearly triple what I've believed possible. In one vertical we're pursuing, I was hesitating on pricing for pre-roll, post-roll, skins, etc. and your post has opened my eyes. thanks for sharing. you've made my day.

I'm not familiar with the terms pre-roll, post-roll, skins but at $5/view wouldn't it make sense to run an Adwords campaign to acquire traffic?

I don't know much either but a pre-roll would be a 15-30 second commerical before the actual video ran.

Since I am running on a free magnify site they own the pre-rolls. I could buy them out at 29.95 a month. I will get to that.

As far as adsense goes, you could be right. Unfortunately just not in a position to do it right now.

Don't know if this is of any help to you, but there is a free wordpress theme called wordtube that I use for NewYorkLoves.Me

I haven't had time to putz around with it as of late but it may suit your needs as far as pre-rolls go.
