@Cannuck I'm more of a logical thinker than you, we need oil. Maybe, someday more things will be electric but even electric pollutes environment. Unless we can run a car on water lol. I'm more concerned about the Americans dying and would love as much peace in the world as possible. The environment is a losing battle. We can win overseas wars or even stop them.

@Cannuck Does that make you sad that America and others countries are not good stewards of the environment?

OK Mr logical, I challenge you to a game of chess anyday. Nobody is saying get rid of oil.

The environment is lost with Trump. We can live without Trump, but we cannot live without an environment.

More Americans die from fossil fuel diseases than died from COVID-19 (more than million+ each year), aren't you concerned?

I'm not sad because I'm doing my part in the real world and places like this. I've helped many along the path.

Greed and overconsumption is at the root our problem (OUR PROBLEM), mostly due to lack of education and misinformation from the big oil companies. They knew the CO2 problem existed decades ago, but covered up the evidence. Now we know, but you have politicians like Trump gaslighting the population against science will not make the problems go away, they'll only get worse.

Will that help USA auto industry?

No, but it will hurt the environment. How you ask, with fewer new cars on the road, since people won't be able to afford the imports (approx. 50% of new car purchases)?

Most people will need to use their old beaters longer (more polluting) and buy only second-hand gas guzzlers, while the rich who can afford the luxury will pay extra for the imports.

We shall see if it works but you didn't read the article. The idea behind it is to get more cars made in USA, when Trump wins 2024 we shall see how the policy works. Donald J. Trump is still better choice than Biden, Harris, Mrs. Obama or other democrats.

The choice is 25% extra or pay less and buy in USA, we shall see if it works.

I read the article, but do you really think companies are going to rush to US and retool their factories for dinosaurs? Fine, if they have alternate ideas, but "all types of cars" is a pretty vague description IMO.

As I recall, there was a fella who tried that... right out of the playbook :sneaky:

Oh, but Biden is winning the National ones in the most recent polls, tide is turning:

From Today, Wed, 1/31, National Polls:

Quinnipiac - Biden +6
Economist/YouGov - Biden +1
That's the interesting thing about the electoral college and states like California & New York may give Biden the popular vote even by a 6% margin. However, Trump is ahead in polling in AZ, GA, MI, NV, NC, PA, WI, and a few others. With Trump leading in almost ever battleground it is possible for your buddy Joe to actually lose to Trump. We shall monitor polling and see as it get's closer, but Trump may in fact be the second president to win a second non-consecutive term.

^ that sounds like an oxymoron, lol. Do you think peace is just about not having wars? We are not at war with the environment, it is our ONLY home that we need to protect.

We can win overseas wars or even stop them.

Why do you feel the need to wage/win wars?
Will the GOP stop Biden from helping Ukraine?
Will US stop funding Israel? GLWT

USA had the chance to be on the cutting edge of eco-technology a couple decades ago, but George W. slid in and started more wars abroad. Had Gore won, times would be different and the world would be a better place today IMHO.

I hate to be a spoiler, but odds are 90:1 that he gets convicted on one charge.

Republicans ought not put all their eggs in one basket... better hang on to Nikki. :xf.wink:

Surely, we can have opinions and should express them with our votes. My opinions give me a strong support of Trump, your same opinion might have you vote Biden and that's your choice. Peace as much as possible. It's up to congress to give other countries aid, I do wish it was better accounted for to make sure it's helping.

He's facing 641 years behind bars. With 91:1 odds for him being convicted.

That's a 0.010989% chance that he will be found not guilty. Yeah, right.

No, I haven't seen that program. I worked in the field and helped develop new toys back in the day with Can-Am Technologies. Some of the stuff I have belongs in a museum, but still used on a daily basis... stood the test of time, unlike alot of the cheap disposable crap we get today.

Essentially, all that progress literally went the way of the dinosaurs when Bush spent $3 Trillion tax payer dollars to hunt one man. Of course it was an inside job, ol' man Bush was pulling the strings (for oil and opium).

At least our PM at the time had the guts and the wisdom NOT to follow the US coalition down the Iraqi rabbit-hole. It was only later, after Bush had stirred up the ISIS hornet nest in Afghanistan, that Canada joined in the fight.
