Seems to me, from what you are saying, that in Canada as in the US, the governments main preoccupation has been mostly with the Black minority and forgetting about the struggling Native Indians.
Now my question: why do Black and Native Indian communities struggle so much, when other minorities, like Chinese, Indians, Pakistanis, Muslims, etc do so well? Is it a cultural thing or are Blacks and Native Indians blatantly targeted to do badly?
You sound like a well educated and reasonable person... why don't you show the way and lead your fellow Natives. Surely they are in need of good leaders!
I think you need to come on a vacation to Madeira and see how we love to live off the land, how much our ancestors struggled through to cultivate the land in this extremely difficult, mountainous island and how we admire people who continue do so on a daily basis!
100 or 200 years ago, If American Blacks where ever given the choice of either picking cotton in Mississippi or working the land in Madeira Island... you can bet your bottom dollar they would have chosen Mississippi every time!
Come on over and I'll show you around and I'm sure you'll leave with a wee bit more knowledge about how people struggle.... all over the world!
Not easy cultivating this land and irrigating it!
