Sedo refuses to delete fraudulent listings. This is another reason why this industry can't get mainstream trust. If one of the top domain name brokerages refuses to make sure the correct owner lists domain names for sale then the entire marketplace on their website is a joke.
I informed sedo that someone had listed one of my domain names and asked them to remove it and verify that the person who posted it wasn't listing other peoples domains for sale.
They refused to remove the listing.
Imagine telling RE/MAX that a home for sale was listed by someone other than the owner.
Do you think they would take more than 5 minutes to remove the fraudulent listing?
Now since this person has listed my domain well below market value what does a prospective buyer think when they pull up this information on sedo? This has diminished the value of my domain name.
Since sedo is facilitating this reduction in value by letting people list other peoples domain names they should also be willing to pay for the reduction in value of the name.
Note: This is an area that undeveloped.com stands out as an industry leader. Anytime I have found a name of mine listed on their site they remove it right away once notified. So if you buy a name at auction or buy a drop and find that it is listed by someone else they handle it right away, same day, every time.
If we have 40 or more domain owners who have had sedo refuse to delete fraudulent listings and have had sedo bring down the value of their names with their insufficient ownership listing requirements we could join together for a class action suit.
It's 2019 and an industry leader like sedo still can't verify ownership records prior to listing domains. Anyone with experience in other industries can see how this deflates the value of all names for all investors because market trust is minimal at best.
