Hey, domain sellers! 👋

We have a special surprise for you.

Continuing from last year (and last week), we have some exciting updates to share with you about NamePros Parking!

First, consider this:

You price your domain name at $2,500. For years, hundreds of interested buyers want to buy it, but the price is too high for them. They don't even try to contact you because they don't realize that the price is negotiable or may change. Years later, you decide to lower the price to $995. How many previously-interested buyers would buy it at this lowered price? You’d never know — until now!

With our new Buy Now options, you can finally contact those previous buyers to increase your sales opportunities. 💸

Here’s how:

Our landers require buyers to confirm their email address before they can see the price. Once confirmed, the price is available to them and their email address is available to you. Simple and effective.

Now, let’s talk new features!

  • Buy Now: Add a Buy button with a sales price and payment options for buyers to purchase your domains.
    • Escrow.com (Recommended): Starts an Escrow.com transaction for you and allows the buyer to pay immediately.
    • PayPal: Creates a PayPal transaction for the buyer to pay directly to your PayPal account.
    • Email: You and the buyer use email to choose a payment method (e.g., crypto), discuss lease-to-own (LTO) options, etc.
  • Location: Country, region (e.g., state or province), and locality (e.g., city, town, or village) of your inquirers to help you understand where they are located, the best time to contact them, etc.
  • Bulk Management: Set options on multiple domains at the same time: prices, payment methods, appearance, etc.
  • Exports: Download your inquiries, including buyers’ email addresses, offers, etc. (CSV format.)
  • Domain Verification: Verify your domains by using any of these methods: name servers (NS), CNAME, or TXT records.
  • Supersonic Speed Boost: Our landers already loaded blazingly fast, but now they’re even faster — a powerful increase in performance!
    • For techies: Go, Redis, and Elastic (previously only: PHP and MySQL)

Wait, there’s more!

Tell us the features that you want for NamePros Parking because we’re adding new features all month!

Features coming soon:

  • Payment Plans: Payment buttons for lease-to-own (LTO) and renting, e.g., “$995/mo for 8 months”
  • ✅ Minimum Offers: Save time by specifying a minimum offer amount to set buyers’ expectations.
  • Portfolio Website: A sharable storefront of the domains in your account with search and filters.
  • Traffic: The number of visitors to parked domains, optionally displayed on your landing pages.
  • ✅ Remove NamePros Branding: An option to remove unnecessary mentions of NamePros from parked pages.
  • ✅ More Landers: Choose from multiple landing pages for various purposes, such as a new Buy Now Optimized lander.
  • File Imports: Add domains to your account and set their prices by uploading spreadsheet files (e.g., .CSV).

PRO TIP: There is a common misconception about how many domain sales happen because of marketplaces. In reality, many sales would still happen (and do happen) without the help of a marketplace, so NamePros is providing a free solution to sell domains and you keep 100% of your profit.

Our for-sale parking service is 100% free:

  • No upfront fees
  • No monthly fees
  • No commission (0%)
  • No upgraded account necessary
  • 100% of your sales belong to you!

How does all that sound?

Visit namepros.com/parking to get started! 🎉

Tip: Quickly access your parking dashboard using the "Sell" dropdown menu at the top.

I'd also like a second escrow option. Suggest Greenburg & Lieberman's Escrow.Domains

It is FREE NOW but later on there will be a fee to use it.
That how it goes...

"Please upgrade your NP account in order to use the marketplace feature"
We would never charge for an existing feature that is currently free.

The only time that we might charge for a new feature is if both: (1) it is an optional feature, and (2) it costs us additional money on an ongoing basis.

Here's an example:

We pay for very high-quality IP address data, which costs us money for every IP address that we check. That data comes in two forms: free and paid. The free data is the same high-quality data, but sometimes it's a little delayed. The paid data is always the most current and up-to-date data.

For access to the timely paid data, we may provide you with an option to upgrade your account or be a VIP. If you don't upgrade and you're not a VIP, then you'll still have access to the same high-quality data, but it may be slightly outdated.

In short, it would be an optional feature that we don't have yet, and we would just be passing on the recurring cost of that feature to you if you want it.

VIP members would still get it for free as appreciation of their contributions to the forums, assuming the new feature isn't cost prohibitive for us.

We hope that clarifies.

We looked into this, but they don't offer an API yet, unfortunately.

If you have a relationship with them, perhaps you could ask them to create an API?

We'd happily add them if they had a way for us to do so.

Forget paying just contribute some quality content. That be priceless.
Exactly! Agreed.

How about a message area?
This is the type of feature that would make it difficult to switch to another provider. Even with exports, it'd be difficult or impossible to get that data into another provider in a useful way.

A lot of domain sellers experienced this when Uniregistry Market (formerly, DomainNameSales) was shut down.

Our solution is intended to prevent that from happening again because all of your data and communications are within your email or CRM.

NamePros Parking is designed to provide value without entrapping you.

That's our goal.

it didnt work, then it did.
Still asked me to confirm my email to see price instantly.
I just entered that goofy email as you prob guess.

it didnt work, then it did.
Please take a screenshot if it ever does not work. You may be entering an invalid response or not entering a required field. It intentionally rejects the submission in those cases and guides the buyer on what they did wrong.

Still asked me to confirm my email to see price instantly.
Yes, that's what it's supposed to do.

Are you expecting something else?

•••
Wait! Dont close page. Confirm email which was received in 10 seconds.
So saying price instantly, need to enter email. Not close page, go to email
Did that, confirm, and original tab opened with very reasonable price.
Now another email saying my request received.
Honestly, I go look at a car I want to see price. Same with domain name.
Keep on it.lol if i can find sum thing wrong I will 🤗

Here's our definition:

Price available instantly means that the purchase price is provided (made available) to the customer with zero delay after making a confirmable request for it, which is achieved through form submission and email address confirmation.

We hope that helps.

Thanks for the rapid response to fix it.

Please add comma when price is over $1,000

I forgot to activate camel casing on a couple of my names and I don't see any way to change that now.

FREE to use??
I feel so guilty to use it for FREE

SO WHAT THE CATCH??
The catch is you drive traffic for namepros. The namepros.com is still in the url.
I doubt if I can make a sale from this landing.
Nice landing means nothing and I don’t care about commission as long as I made a sale.
You guys are actually volunteering to test to fix all the bugs for this landing.
This is just my opinions. Feel free to dislike the post.
And I am sure no one dare to like this post.

So I got an email as a buyer on my name. It gave all my info as the seller, but told the buyer to visit Namepros and gave an underlined link that takes them directly to the general Namepros reseller forum. I really don't want to interrupt the selling process for the buyer by telling them of all things to go visit Namepros reseller forum. :nailbiting:

There are two ways:
  1. Individually: Use the "Edit" button on a single domain name. That's the same place where you add a purchase price.
  2. Bulk: Use "Add domains" and select the "Update preferred casing for existing domains" option.

We hope that helps.

We have always needed separation between wholesale and retail activity on Namepros to protect the members sales performance. This is the perfect time to implement it. Namepros can use this opportunity to create a new revenue stream for both the forum owners and the members. Streamline the retail sales process without any distractions, except if the buyer fails to follow through with the sale. If the buyer stalls, direct them to retail oriented educational info about why they need the best domain name to increase the success of their business. Then after they complete their purchase and we get paid, promote all the extra features every business needs online. Offer hosting, website creation, logo, and SEO. All these add-on services are excellent ways for both Namepros and members to share in additional revenue we never had before. All that extra revenue has been going to GoDaddy etc up until now. No More! We need all the revenue we can get just to cover our renewals. Stop and think about how dramatically this will improve our business. Features like hosting and SEO offer a continuous revenue stream after the domain sale!

Test all the bugs using free testers
All of the recent bugs are due to adding new features that have been requested. It is impossible to add new features without bugs happening sometimes, as evidenced by frequent reports of GoDaddy/Afternic bugs.

Furthermore, all of our bugs have been fixed within hours of being reported. Are you seeing that response time anywhere else?

All of our prior parking functionality has been stable for a year thanks to a closed beta test prior to launching and thousands of domains being parked on NamePros for over a year.

It appears that you meant to write: "It sent the buyer an email with all of the information that they entered on the form."

That helps the buyer confirm that they did not make any mistakes while filling out the form.

There are only two times that information about the seller is shared with the buyer, and one of them is optional:
  1. Your parking email address is used when they reply to emails after confirming their email address.
  2. Optional: If you have "NamePros user card" enabled, then your user card shows on your parked domains.

Buyers are informed at the top of each email that they can reply to it to contact the seller.

Thank you for noticing the link at the bottom of the email because none of your buyers will. Small gray links at the bottom of emails like this are worse than banner blindness.

I am very concerned about the "Visit NamePros" link in the email the buyer is receiving. They have not even completed the purchase and they are already being redirected to the NamePros forum. Not good at all.

I think the biggest key here involve most of the domain community into this new and fascinating initiative is escrow

I'll explain myself better:

Domain sellers worldwide right now DON'T HAVE a decent and reasonable escrow service for imported leads. The offer types given are not good enough for the sustainability of the domainer to do domaining in a comfortable and unstressed way.

By not using escrow, however, you are subject to a degree of risk of chargeback (direct PayPal), scam (bank transfer and crypto)

Let's go an analyze why I believe there's not a reasonable and thoughtful offer for domainers:

DAN: The new VAT regulations have "killed" domaining for individual domainers from Europe which make up a big piece of the market. This is because to buy a domain from them, you need to pay an additional 22% (Italian VAT in this case) on domain price which is really huge. This 22% fee is present also for imported leads (leads that you yourself find and bring to DAN). So it's actually a 22% (VAT) fee on buyer + a 5% fee on seller, making it in total an outstanding 27% in commissions + commission on 5% fee if seller is from EU. Obviously we talk about much more than 27% if it's not an importer leads and an even higher amount if domain isn't pointed at Dan/afternic. Needless to say that this model is unsustainable for a domainer and it has repercussions on non eu sellers as well as activity from eu is lowered.

Squadhelp escrow: Not many of you know it, but squadhelp does actually offer an escrow service for imported leads. This escrow service is at 4.5% of transaction amount. It's what I most often use. It's negative side though is that to use that type of service deal transaction has to be at least of 300 USD. I think however for lower amounts there's the option to use wholesale marketplace at 5% fee. Definitely the most decent and reasonable one among the unreasonables.

DAAZ: DAAZ is a relatively small marketplace.. which around a couple of hundred sales per year. DAAZ commission are relatively low.. with buy now commission at 5% and import lead feature at 5%, with minimum price at $100. Downside? Time. Very rarely it takes less than a day to get payment (even for import lead between domainers) and even waiting only a couple of days or a few days for a domainer which constantly needs to rinse and repeat to improve portfolio quality may be a deal breaker.

Sedo escrow (apparently lowest commission on market at 3%):

If SH escrow service is unknown to many of domainers, sedo import lead feature I guess it's even more unknown. It's the lowest on the market (3%). Why isn't everyone using sedo escrow then? Well, again if daaz is an issue due to the relatively long times in getting paid out and reinvest in domains, sedo is a nightmare. As per sedo website says, you can expect the sale to go through in 1-2 weeks. Not worth the 3% commission despite being the fixed lowest commission in the market. Why? Cause time is money (if you're a Domainer you probably understand me).

Let's get to escrow.com and escrow.domains (aka escrowdomains.com):

I'm doing these two together because I find their positive aspects and downsides to be impressively similar: Both these escrow do not have a fixed fee, but are dependent on the size of escrow transaction.

In my opinion, for low ( mid 3 figures transactions) it's unsustainable to have them as your escrow service. Why? Cause if I sell a domain for 100 USD (maybe wanna have a quick flip/small sale to reinvest in domains)
at escrow.domains, you'll have to give 25 USD of that. It's an outstanding 25% fee.

Escrow.com seems to do overall better in keeping low amount transaction fees low, but if buyer uses credit card/PayPal instead of wire/check/money order the fee seems to approximately double.

Also if I remember correctly, at escrow.com once you reach a relatively low threshold of sale volume you need to do some paperwork/document verification with them to continue selling. For domainers that value anonymity a lot, it can be a big turn off.

My dream would be to see @NamePros develop a free (perhaps for vip + gold users accounts) escrow service. So manage the parking/sale listing until the end of the deal (payout). I'd have full trust of namepros keeping the buyer's funds. The funds would go to Namepros Billing Team. I am SURE that something can be worked out 😁❤️

Namepros has given a lot to me.. I started domaining with nothing and it gave me a chance to show my skills and capabilities by providing to me the opportunities of rinsing and repeating. This is where my career started. I love this initiative because it shows namepros is expanding. Even though I wouldn't like an end user to find out about NP and consequently find the same domains on landing page at wholesale prices, I would love to see an increased popularity of this platform and increased amount of people joining. Because more people in the community would mean more activity. More activity means more deals. And more fun for all us domainers. So briefly we want end users to try to be as distant as possible from wholesale prices, but we want common people, that want to try the domaining venture, that want to try to make money, join us. This is the model I'd love and dream to see.

Just my 2 cents,
DB

Guys just imagine namepros having its own escrow service the impact it would have on the entire domaining community.. I think everyone of us would use it. We all owe a lot to NamePros.

It could function this way:

1. A normal (reasonable) fee for normal accounts

2. A lower fee for blue accounts

3. A lower fee for gold accounts

4. No fee at all for Gold accounts + VIP as sign of gratitude of NP for people that have been contributing economically to the ecosustainability of the platform but also not economically but through contributions

Imagine the impact this would have on the internal ecosustainability of Namepros.. how many account upgrades there would be. How many people would start contributing more (long term) on the platform to get the vip badge.

Imagine the impact it would have on the ENTHUSIASM of domainers. It would be incredible

I know I'm not asking for the moon.... 😁

Your assumption is incorrect.
What assumption?

The small gray link in the email footer? We have data to prove it's not an issue and buyers don't see it.

You only noticed it because you were looking for it.

I filled out the form info as the buyer to confirm it worked and to see what info the buyer would receive. I am happy that they get my contact info.
Yes, that's what we said. You mistakenly wrote "as the seller" before, but you meant something like this:
  1. "It gave all my info as the [buyer]"
  2. "It gave all my info [to] the seller"

I am very concerned about the "Visit NamePros" link in the email the buyer is receiving. They have not even completed the purchase and they are already being redirected to the NamePros forum. Not good at all.
The link is basically invisible to buyers, but since you're concerned about it, we can just remove it.

Sound good?
