Depends on the software you are using, also when you last checked
A couple of months ago I noticed that my readout for AllTheWeb suddenly jumped from the usual to thousands of links.
I think the way your software is querying AllTheWeb is probably not up to date which results in some silly numbers, I guess they changed their search criteria.

i am using a free LPC. i noticed that in this particular checker in "allthe web "links" are to the "words". for example "personal-quick-loans.com" would bring up sites with "personal+quick+loans"
anyway when i remove the URL and type the name again, the links = 0 instead of 100's......very unstable!!:yell:

You better just using marketleap or some other online checker...
Dont forget that links drop out of search engines all the time, it could be those sites linking to yours or rather the actual page was removed from the engine. For what ever reason.. if the site was unreachable at time of crawl the search engine might drop it..

Like mentioned above, your link popularity checker maybe using some old query code which gives you disordered results about the actual link count and etc. You might also want to try out some other websites and see if your getting the same results, that usually helps if you think something might be going on with the real count.
