We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I hope the recent delays in page loading is/are due to upgrades being made. I'm finding a 2-14 second delay on many pages with this popping up before finally loading:

Can anyone explain the option on DAN > settings > for sale page > "Host your for sale pages on Dan.com"? I see the description there but it's not written very well and I'm not 100% clear what it means. Sorry. What exactly is the difference for the buyer's user experience with this feature turned on vs. turned off? @DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk

"By enabling this feature all traffic on your domains will be forwarded to for sale pages hosted on Dan.com, including live support. When you don't opt-in for this feature, your buyers won't see our live support widget on your for sale pages. Redirect your buyers to your internal marketplace for sale pages"

That means:

Hosted on Dan: the url for your landing page will be dan.com/buy-domain/yourdomain.extension

Not hosted: yourdomain.extension

I don't know which option is better, personally I'm using the hosted on Dan

Is anyone having SSL issues (connection not secure) with DAN lander pages? Add a new domain to DAN portfolio.. using DAN's nameservers (or A record) to point domain to DAN so that mydomain.extension direct url is the DAN lander page... but it can take a number of days before the SSL works and until that time the browser shows SSL (connection not secure) warning notice. So, that's a significant deterent for people to use the form to buy or submit an offer if they don't think the page is secure. @DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk - thanks

Good to know, thanks. Do you know if it makes any difference how search engines index the for sale lander page?

Yes, a few weeks ago I tried the landing pages with the non-redirected ( domain.extension ) and noticed that issue so went back to the redirected option

I don't know, but I wouldn't bother. Even in low competence terms if you search a domain unlikely it will appear in the first page, so no advantage in my opinion

What DAN for sale page template/design works best for you? Standard, Brandable or Minimalistic? Any other settings you think are better for increasing chances of getting offers or sell thru rates? Of course if it's a horrible domain nothing will help; but for the sake of argument let's say it's a decent domain name. The standard template shows custom images nicely on large screens but does not so good on phones. Appreciate your feedback 😊

Suggestion for @DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk about bulk editing for sale page display settings for domains: It's a really great feature we can bulk edit the domains for sale page display settings. I noticed that if we update multiple domains using this feature and change the template from Standard to Brandable, then the for sale landers for those domains lose the original "own image" custom image that was set for that domain. Would be good if there were a "keep image" setting or a setting where we can add/change the custom image in the bulk settings tool.

@DAN.COM you probably know that @Dynadot offers AI description generator for their domain for sale landing pages, which is a pretty cool feature. You guys ever think about doing something like this?

Since a new year has just started, there may be contractual obligations agreed upon at the time Dan was sold that may have been (are being) triggered.

If you happened to use Afternic yesterday, there were several hours where it seems as though it was 'integrated' into the Godaddy system. It was an awful look/operation. Today it is back to 'normal' but I'm afraid we got a glimpse at what is coming.

Sometimes a company/business should just leave well enough alone.

@DAN.COM could you check if this is happening and if yes fix it?

Thanks
Good afternoon @ArielT,
We haven't heard any other reports of this, but we're checking this out. If there's anything to report from our checks, we'll post it here. Sometimes, overseas credit card purchases can fail due to the restrictions on the card, something that the credit card issuer can remove.

Best regards,
Dan.com

Your web page contact form isn't working for me.

The message given is: "This websie is not within the supported domains for this Sitekey."

So is there an email address recommended instead for customer support Some rogue sellers have listed about 2/3 of my portfolio on DAN. The fake listings need to be removed, with appropriate action taken against the unauthorized sellers.

And Dan, you really need mandatory verification, like Sedo. Eliminating this recurrent problem may help you and Afternic from losing even more customers.
Good afternoon @LoveCatchyDomains,
We're sorry our contact form didn't work for you. There's live chat throughout Dan.com, and you can also email us on [email protected]. If you'd rather call, there are a couple of phone numbers listed on https://dan.com/contact

Best regards,
Dan.com

Good afternoon @Mister Funsky,
Can you DM us with some sample domain names? We'll check this out with our engineers.

Good afternoon @Maxxo
If you're experiencing this, you can switch to hosting your for sale pages on Dan.com, which redirects your domain names to an internal Dan.com page, like this: https://dan.com/buy-domain/hhh.com

One of the advantages in this case is that this internal page displays Dan.com's live chat button for added visitor support, in case of any questions before purchasing.

Extra AI tools and integrations are always something to consider for future updates. Thanks for your suggestion.

Good afternoon @Jannes,
Yes, we are quiet on X. What would you like to see us posting there?

@DAN.COM

Please pay attention (again) to your server capacity and configs.

I'm seeing these errors more often these days.

Thank you.

This is a very big issue with Dan.com

The problem with access to domain names parked at DAN.COM I have been having is since 2020 year!!!

I checked several domains they open, but you can not proceed to buy or make an offer; At the very same time I can not access my dan account with out the vpn.

Why dont you guys solve this problem???

How can you guarantee that domainers are not losing their leads and revenue because you obviously have access issues???

How can we check which countries and cities there is access problem???

Support does not solve this problem.

Fellow domainers, can you please write which countries do you have problems as well?

Is there any solid Dan alternative? I am fed up with this mess.

We'll check this out with our engineers.
Although it can happen across several browsers, it seems to happen most often with Chrome.

@DAN.COM - I can confirm the page load times have been unusually long these past couple of weeks.

Keep in mind that's if they load at all.

Tested in clean, private Firefox, Chrome & Safari browsers on multiple devices & networks.

You might want to look into it.

Yes,

I tested some of my domains on page speed testing tools and they have to improve it

I started a thread yesterday on the landing page problem as I hadn’t seen the multiple mentions here. In my experience, safari on iPhone and Mac have the biggest problem, ie in all my tests yesterday no domains worked the first and second time I tried to load them, while in chrome on PC some did work.

This is a problem that needs to be taken seriously by Dan as it is costing money although the best solution for domainers is to change landing page provider. I find it inexcusable that they haven’t solved it yet and I can’t trust that they will successfully or that it won’t come back in some time causing the same problems again. I have had similar landing page problems with Dan for about a year although this is the first time I seriously looked into it and thoroughly tested it.

Is there any way to remove the $100 minimum for “Make an offer” or is $100 the least that Dan accepts? I have some domains expiring next month and would be happy to receive some slightly lower offers for some of them.

That's the minimum.

Thank you for that information. The contact form did finally work, and the unauthorized listings finally removed.

The problem of fraudulent listings still appears to contine on Dan. Hopefully, you will start strictly mandating upfront and ongoing verifications. Actual domain owners and potential buyers would no doubt welcome that added security and integrity of your marketplace.

Every single domain does not resolve on its first request! @DAN.COM you are serving broken pages; it could be due to how you implement http->https redirects over SSL. I can't solve the issue for you but at least 50% of all visits go to a broken page.

Pointing the domains to internal Dan pages is NOT the solution we need here.

The behavior is consistent: First visit from any browser over any network results in error. Given a short time gap, e.g. a minute, subsequent visits lead to a valid lander. The issue repeats after an unknown amount of time has passed. Check your Apache configuration and SSL implementation, TTL settings for the ns1.dan.com and ns2.dan.com nameservers and anything else for that matter. This is a major glitch!

Should also add that browser behavior differs. While Firefox ends the connection with an error, Chrome displays the error, then re-attempts a reconnect (which succeeds in re-opening the SSL tunnel.)
