Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

anyone has any experience regarding this? @Atom.com

While there are many factors that influence SEO, pages with very little content are generally more likely to be viewed as “thin content” by search engines. Because Standard Landers include additional information such as descriptions, categories, industries, and use cases, they provide stronger SEO signals and typically have a better chance of being indexed and ranking for relevant searches.

Minimal Landers can still be indexed and discovered, but if maximizing organic search visibility is the primary goal, Standard Landers would generally be the better choice.

At 2% of BIN price it's certainly attractive to be used for spam runs.
I'd also be very interested to know whether End Users even comprehend the difference between LTO and Rent. Sure, we understand what LTO is, but for the average punter, I wouldn't be surprised if it sounds the same, and they just think 'well, the Rent option is cheaper - I'll do that'.

I was thinking the same. Especially when it's "cancel at any time" (LTO) vs. "walk away whenever — no commitment" (Rent).

Since that is kinda diplomatic context, I would have used their preferred spelling Türkiye.

It looks like it is simply because one domain listed for sale has previously been used for illegal gambling. If this is the case, Türkiye might as well shut down access to every domain marketplace.

The Reason: The Turkish authorities blocked the website due to allegations related to illegal gambling (yasa dışı bahis). Tech experts note this usually happens if a specific domain name once used for illegal activities happens to be listed for sale on the marketplace

@Atom.com every time I buy a name from your registrar, I get 4 separate emails.

1- Your Atom.com receipt
2- Your registration order is complete
3- We've received your registration order
4- Payment received (this particular email always goes to SPAM btw)

Is this necessary? Can these emails please be consolidated into one confirmation email?

Mine always goes to SPAM too. Even though I keep marking them as not spam, it goes to spam. I told Atom about this a few weeks ago (give or take).

Must check my spam folder to see if that's where all my sales are hiding 🫣

I just noticed this feature in My Domain Offers. Seems like a good feature -- has anyone used it and gotten potential buyers to put down a $100 deposit to signal serious purchase intent?

interesting, never heard of it. Do we have to toggle this on or is it always on?

I never turned it on -- it seems to be on by default

There was some talk about it a while ago - even in this thread, I thought?... In any case, they did bring it up in their blog (one of the many, many new features introduced this year).

thanks. I will likely always ask for a committed offer when negotiating then. Note Atom keeps 25% if the negotiation fails

75% of the deposit will be paid to the seller, and
25% will be retained by Atom to cover platform administration, payment processing fees, and transaction costs.

Sellers Can Also Request a Deposit During Negotiation

For Standard Listings that use self-negotiation, sellers can also request a deposit during the negotiation process.

This can be helpful when a buyer expresses interest but the seller would like additional confidence before accepting an offer or taking the domain off the market.

When a seller requests a deposit, the buyer has the option to convert the discussion into a Committed Offer by adding the refundable deposit.

As with buyer-initiated deposits:

  • If the offer is accepted, the deposit becomes non refundable and applies toward the purchase price.
  • If the offer is not accepted, the deposit is released.
This gives both sides a simple way to move negotiations forward with clearer signals of intent.

Anyone else having trouble uploading names this AM? Just cycles and cycles and never uploads. Just wondering if it's my cache or an @Atom.com issue
