Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Did Afternic fire half their brokers or is everyone on vacation?

I posted earlier about a buyer who contacted Afternic multiple times about an open negotiation and received no response (then contacted me via WHOIS), and I have also not received any response from my subsequent inquiries either.

On another one, I responded multiple times to an offer earlier in the week, and now it's the weekend with zero reply from the broker.

Offers are being posted to my account and then NOTHING is happening and there is no broker activity at all (just the original offer), even though myself and buyers are responding back.

Somehow I think this is costing me sales.

@DomainRecap It is most definitely costing you sales.

I inquired on one of my own names to test broker response times on initial inquiries.

The broker finally responded 3 days later.

So much for getting a price in less than 24 hours.

Wow, Afternic is really turning into a fake listing nightmare.

I just uploaded 48 domains and 12 of them were already listed - that's one in four. I always get conflicts, but the numbers seem to grow each time I list. It used to be 2-3 per upload, then 4-5. then 7-8, and now it's gone into double digits.

Freaking scammers are killing the world.

Edit: I just loaded the next 48 domains to Afternic (max number is 50 and I like to stay just under the max) and the 'already-listed' conflicts totaled 14 this time, or about 30%. This is absolutely nuts.
Yikes, that is a bad ratio! What type of names are these? Expired/dropcatch, or new registrations you thought of yourself? If the former, is it most likely leftover listings from the prior owner? Perhaps as a matter of procedure (I know you shouldn't have to) you can add your ownership NS3 when listing in bulk -- that should help move the names from the current account to your account faster.

I doubt it, as I've been listing the same type of domains at Afternic for almost 2 decades and the "conflict" numbers have continued to go up over the years - yesterday's upload was another big spike. 25-30% of my domain listings conflicting is a stupid number I've never seen before, and no way that's all due to "old owners forgetting to delete their domains", as similar numbers would have also happened in the past.

I have no question that it's due to mass-loading scammers, especially as a lot of these conflict domains were acquisitions from April that the perps may have deemed "safe to scam" since it's been ~2 months.

I listed domains purchased during the last 2+ months, and the older the purchase date got, the higher percentage it was to be "already listed". That's the exact opposite pattern of what you would expect to find if it was all "old listings".

Everyone who recently changed the prices, check them.

At first, both the landers and the Reg Path show the new prices, but after about a day they start showing the previous prices again.

And guys, stop wasting your time and nerves asking them to fix bugs. It's pointless. I've finally realized that this thread exists only so that we can help each other here.

I sold a SAV domain 7 days ago. It s still in my SAV account.
It seems that simple transfer is faster than fast transfer lately...

I haven't checked, but it doesn't sound good.

How did you update your pricing? Manually in the dashboard, or in bulk using CSV upload?

Manually in the dashboard.

I was checking prices this evening because, you know, GoDaddy doesn't always choose to display the ones we set. In doing so, I am finding names set to BIN landers are showing as Request Price. Gotta love GoDaddy!

I had an offer recently at my min price. Within 30 minutes of the price request I give the broker my BIN and Floor, he thanks me and then .... nothing. No reach out to the buyer, it's been 72 hours. There are really strange things going on at Afternic, almost as if they are forcing people into self-brokerage through their inactivity.

Hello, can you please DM us the domain name, we'd be more than happy to take a look.

Thanks!

Jesus Christ, after processing a ton of sales through Afternic, I suddenly get a "payment failed" email, so I checked my Payment Settings and Paypal account, and everything is just as it was. I also contacted Paypal and they have no record of a failed payment to my account and there is no issue with my email or account that could have caused this.

I'm not even sure how to proceed with this issue, as there is nothing regarding this on my account or on the transaction...

I am getting sooooo sick of Afternic.

That is a peculiar problem. Normally Paypal functions perfect.

Ah, sorry. If you're addressing your message to Jesus, I'm not sure He's on this forum. Though He is probably the only one capable of fixing the mess @ GD/AN.

Question:

when I delete a domain in my GD-account, it is still showing up in my domain-list.
Is there a way to "immediately" delete a domain in the GD-account, so that the domain is really removed from my account ?

When I "delete" a domain in my GD-account, it is still showing up for several months. Why ?
I want to have it removed from my account immediately.

Many thanks.

Still nothing.

Sold on the 17th, payment failed on the 18th, and a "we can assure you that there is nothing for you to worry about" message from TA later on the 18th.

I'm not worried, but I'm certainly not going to send Afternic any more Transfer Codes until this transaction is paid in full.
