Afternic Fast Transfer Nightmare!!!

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Hey NamePros Fam,
I ran into a strange situation - The domain i had on my Sav account has sold through afternic fast transfer method without any notification or confirmations from afternic, it wasn't even listed there! Sav confirmed that it got sold through afternic.
Its been more than 2 months (Sep-24).I have reached afternic through mails and calls.did not get any proper answer yet.
I have no idea about how to handle this.

Anyone here have faced the same issue? How'd you tackle it? Thinking about reaching out to ICANN.Any insights or advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Is the domain still on your account?

You mentioned it was sold through Afternic fast transfer and not listed on Afternic. Why did you approved the fast transfer?

Does it mean your domain got stolen?
What i understood from this scenario is that, the previous owner has listed it on afternic and didn't remove it from the platform. Am not sure about this.

Oh, that's also possible.

i was not aware that my domain is listed on afternic. Because i haven't listed it. I don't know how this happened without any emails.

fast transfer is total mess. with locks ...many partners ... no synch.. expired names...previous owner prices etc... total mess... keep away from afternic.. godaddy... fast transfer ... just use one account for all... dan.com... put your bins there... no fast transfers.. no pain... still goes to gd auctions.. afternic and 100 others... dont touch afternic and gd. plus dan ui on phone ..and desktop... does in 10 seconds what needs 10 mins clicks on afternic and gd ui.

as for op issue ... did u get any sold emails or such? sav wont help but if afternic sale and u can show it left your account then ask where it went and where is your damn money. p.s what's whois now? who got it? share price???

This situation is completely incompetent on the part of SAV!

In the fast-transfer approval section of the control panel, there are no details about domain names that have been previously approved and are waiting to be approved. After approval, not even a simple e-mail is sent regarding the domain names added to the network. Completely sealed box.

Dynadot provides these critical details and the ability to manage each domain name separately, as does Namecheap and Porkbun.

By the way, I would also like to convey the following; The domain name that I sold and transferred to the other party is still on my panel and I can make any changes even though I no longer own it.
Plus, dozens of domain names that were dropped or even deleted on the registry side are still listed in my account.

I've been working with SAV for about 3 years and have reported countless bugs and requested a ton of improvements. They took none of it into consideration.

If you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

The first thing you do when you get a domain is to make sure its not allready on Afternic.

It still doesn’t explain how a fast transfer happened that you say you didn’t approve. Someone else got money meant for you.

Here's another issue Impossible to delete domain from Afternic e.g. 11Legs.com
Godaddy force me to add the domain to Afternic for deleting old/fake listing.

What if I won't submit the domain to Afternic, Godaddy keeps selling my domain without my permission. Scammer getting offers on Godaddy and won't delete my domain.

This is how godaddy got million listed domains on their platform its seems to be most of them unauthorized, old or just fake.

I will sell godaddy stocks.

@GoDaddy can maybe rectify this. Along with a few other things but lets stay on topic.

@Thasreefa P M : you either have no contractual relationships with Afternic at all, or, at least, in connection with this domain. Yeah Afternic is buggy etc., and there is a lot of fraud around (somebody else listed your domain on purpose most likely), but afternic is technically and legally unable to link you and the domain in question. The responsible party is SAV. They lost your domain. They should assume all responsibility and, if appropriate, they should deal with afternic, not you. Contact SAV. Maybe file a complaint with ICANN.

Hi @Thasreefa P M, we’re sorry to hear about your experience through your registrar, Sav. While this, as you say, happened more than 2 months ago, we’d like to look at this further.

Please could you email the domain name in question to [email protected] along with any other details that may be relevant.

For the future, our Afternic support team is always ready to help via email or phone: afternic.com/contact-afternic

Thank you.

I don't think "automatic transfer without confirmation" should even be a thing, it opens the possibility for domains to go missing for no real benefit for domainers (but good for Afternic, so many names have old prices and slip undetected). An actual fast transfer ok, but without my knowledge and click a simple accept button at the actual time of the sale = NO. Horrible system.

This is the typical fraud that is SUPPORTED by Afternic.
Since Afternic benefits from this fraud - with commission - they continue to assist rogue sellers and take part in crime by allowing rogue sellers to list the names that they don't own.

The only way to protect names is to make sure that the names are registered with NON-AFTERNIC network registrars, for example, Infomaniak. Your name can never fly out of your account even accidentally without your knowledge.

I've been moving all names (especially high value names) to Infomaniak over the past one year.
Asset is an asset. We should do whatever it takes to protect it from being stolen.

Afternic as well as most domain marketplace don't want to give any 'evidence' of transaction by NOT Sending email notification so that they can evade investigation and any further followup. The whole transaction is being done without any trace accessible to the domain owner so that you have no proof to sue them. So, approving SAV to allow your name to be hijacked by Afternic, leaves SAV of no liability. Though, Afternic is liable, the intricacies with which this looting is done is beyond a common man's reach.

At some point, every CRIMINAL MUST BE PUNISHED.

When total failure become irrelevant noise, better believe something better will replace that sleepy take, sooner rather than later.

These examples are deadly to domainer clients. Hell, anyone! The basis for their existence should simply have been removed decades ago.

To the tech providers, this is obviously nothing. They don't give a flying f**k.

Vote with your feet.

Then it won't be called FAST transfer since you cannot be online every second.

Check your facts before generating stupid content like an AI.
