For short terms holds, I usually won't buy a GoDaddy domain unless valuation is $3500 and up.
1 and 2 thousand almost anything will hit

I bought a ton of .com.au single "The +word" like the following:

TheToken.com.au
TheLibra.com.au
TheCryptos.com.au

TheLoan.com.au
TheEquity.com.au

TheEarth.com.au

And now understand their value isn't what I was hoping hahahaha

I say it is crap but hey that could mean it is a winner. What would the cash actually do? supply loans? It is a brand so it will require as much work for the return there wont be free rides. Find domains that will bring you people.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be much of an aftermarket for .com.au domains... there has only been one domain sales reported since 2012 that contained the word cash... so that's not promising. I'd personally avoid .com.au if your goal is purely to make money flipping the domain as is.

IF you are good at website development and SEO... then .com.au could be useful as you can build local sites that rank and flip them in their ranking positions. Otherwise... I'd stick to com, net, and org.

Another note is have "the" in the domain. Can you name a famous website or company that has "the" in the name? The fact that you can't think of any is a sign that it's not popular and therefore will likely not be popular to purchase either.
