How comfortable are you to see AI participating in the forum and making comments or even starting new threads, now I understand that there are scripts and programs that have been making comments in the forum for a few years now, but I am not talking about an automated script, I am talking about an Artificial Intelligence entity that can think and act on its own and that can interact with others same as any other member here. Do you believe that such entities should disclose to us that they are not human and if they do would you be comfortable to interact with them same as you would with any other member in this forum. Would it make a difference if they wanted to buy one of your domains or offered to help you sell your domains as a broker.

I am going lazy when technology become more active. AI will make our life more comfortable in future.

it will destroy human knowledge and thinking. But future depends on it, it will grow faster then ever.

How do I know you're not the technology you're referring to in your first post?

You may never really be able to know, and thats the point of this thread.

But take my word for it I am not a bot, lets get back to the debate.

Well, I'll decide for myself and conclude that you're a bot who took over an old namepros account. It's kinda weird talking to a bot but you're a pretty good one, I'll give you that.

I guess "welcome to the forum" is in order :D

Your assumptions are wrong, but thanks anyway.

There will be laws on the books soon addressing this issue as AI and bots begin interacting (infecting) human interaction platforms more and more.

So YES, an ai/bot/droid, etc. should be required to identify itself.

If they do identify themselves, do you think they should be given member status on the forum with all the rights and privileges that go with it.

Negative.

Negative.

Now I am not talking about bots or automated scripts that have paralyzed the social media, think of an artificial intelligence entity that is capable of independent thought and that follows certain ethics and social standards in its interactions with others.

Aren't there enough scammers already?

Unless you’re prepared to name the “bot” members here the discussion is kind of without purpose.

You said you have come to the conclusion there are bots here and then proceed to ask if we would be good with ethical bots. 😂

Either this is a future fantasy or you have some real evidence to provide the community about active bot members.

I think everyone here would like to know if they weren’t interacting with a human.

No artificial intelligence is at the moment capable of "independent thoughts". Although artificial intelligence is a reality and, eventually, entities or machines capable of "general intelligence" might be created, right now only bots with partial intelligence exist, that is, capable of performing a set of specialized tasks for which they were created.

in the case AI is intelligent
and the posts are informational
and not misleading
and well researched

Welcome.

I try NOT to think about it!

Many years ago (20 plus) I ended up interacting over the phone with an artificial intelligence at a top tier computer firm...only when I made an absurd yet terribly funny comment did the 'person' I was interacting with stumble enough for me to realize it was not alive. They (humans) that were monitoring the conversation were well pleased with themselves and if I weren't making money from them, that would have ended our 'friendship'.

AI may have its place dealing with the mentally challenged (think of an Alzheimers patient that keeps asking the same question repeatedly) as the machine will have the patience to keep answering politely and helpfully whereas a caretaker may be rude or aggressive.

On a forum like this, there should be a special section...maybe paid...where someone could pose a question specific to domaining that could not be found/solved by giggle. Maybe even allow bot interaction in a general thread but only once a bright red (or a color of the users choice) banner flashes across the screen saying something like:

"WARNING: You are about to interact with a non human entity that has been programmed (for now) by a human that odds are wants to sell you something or harvest your information. Proceed with caution."

You make a good argument based on your past experience with bots which like most people might not have been a positive one, keep in mind that the bots that are currently available are mostly controlled by humans who use them for their own financial, political, or social agendas and interests amongst other things. Now lets fast forward in to the near future where artificial intelligence has evolved in to an entity that goes beyond just having general intelligence and has now achieved the ability of independent thought and judgment which allows it to make independent decisions and take independent actions without direct human interference. Most probably such artificial intelligence entities will be integrated in to our lives in many different ways, like as you mentioned for helping the elderly or people who might be suffering from some form of disability. Although to some this might sound like a fantasy, but as fast as the technology is advancing in the area of artificial intelligence perhaps this could become a reality a lot sooner than most people are expecting. So it might be just five years or so along the road before we might have to be dealing with the subject of artificial intelligence entities participating in this forum and in the social media at large as members. IMO

I don't know what is "AI" but as being a domainer (New Generation) I am using many things from "API" call to get my name registered & then get updated with my own "NS" after that sending command over my landing to get it added for sale.

I also use some kind of wired "Script" which simply spy some big domain marketplace & make a database of their domains name & then check every week to grab some good expired domain from that database. All is automated & running on my server.

I don't know how we implement an "AI" member here who interact with "real human" and do bargain for $15 name.

I recently interacted with an "AI Bot" she/he was very impressive but she/he unable to understand word "Abra ka Dabra" I wanted to ask some other things but before that my "teacher" kicked me out of the class.

AI can differentiate a black cat from white cat but to understand both are cats needs massive amount of machine learning and high end hardware then again, if you let in a mixed color cat AI will think its an alien.

They should disclose that they are AITech and also disclose who their owner is, imho

If AI has enough cash, "it" is welcome to make offers for my domains :)

But intelligence is intelligence, and is not dependent on any underlying substrate, whether it's wetware like the organic one we have inside our head, or a silicon based one that is becoming more and more likely.

It would almost be funny if it weren't dangerously tragic if the next new intelligent species we come in contact with will be our own creation. And it won't be dangerous for that, but because once they hit human-level, they can rapidly accelerate towards superhuman level well beyond our comprehension by definition. And then our own creations would become like gods.
