This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

First Sale

Are you sure that's the domain you sold? I don't think that kind of name would go through gd auctions without bids to reach closeouts. :xf.confused:

No, I didn't do any outbounding. It had been listed on GD for awhile, then the same day I listed it on Undeveloped I got the offer on GD. I have a feeling the buyer saw the Undeveloped listing and thought s/he would try to get it cheaper on GD.
The price on Undeveloped was $1250. The initial GD offer was $150. When I countered with $1250, they jumped to $750, and we settled on $815.
I don't have a niche industry at this point; I'm mostly buying low-cost domains to build my portfolio while trying to stay in the black.

Purchase price: ~$25
Sale venue: outbound
Initial listing: $600
Final sale price: $390
Paypal is dumb: ~$11.70
Total Net: $353ish

During my tower raids, I had come across this domain. The next few days more Gym domains dropped. I looked up their whois, they were bigshots with like 11k domains :doctor:.

But it looks like someone caught all these gym domains. Anyway, I only bought this one, because it had the highest population... and it's Baltimore ffs.

So I sent some outbound, and only this one buyer expressed interest but outsourced the negotiations and transaction to their SEO/marketing/webdev person.

So my initial $600 response got 0 replies for many weeks. . . . . . . I thought many thoughts: they got annoyed, they got insulted, they weren't interested. But I saw that they were opening my emails.

So I continued to spam :D. And randomly I offered a 35% discount, which brought the price down to 390. They responded that they'd ask the owner. The owner, who was just busy... Accepted a week later or something.

And today I just received payment and transferred the domain seamlessly via GD. I was trying to avoid undeveloped's 5% fee but lol, paypal has its own huge fee it seems :D. 3% vs 5%, might as well use fkn undeveloped.

Anyway, I felt a little bad because I probably could've gotten the whole $600 if i had just kept my pants up and waited. But, being noob, well you know. So lesson learned. For all of you *points*.

Congrats! Surprised it did not sell earlier. Golf and AE should have been a no-brainer, especially at this price point.

Ive had slightly higher offers (up to around 7K) in the past and rejected them. Golf is big business in the UAE so I was waiting for the big offer to come along, it never did so I thought now was the best time to sell. I also approached every Golf company & course in the UAE without any luck. I have focuses on .AE names for a quite a few years and sold quite a few names in the past but a lot of companies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi use .com names.

@gilescoley , Congrats, .Ae sales have been a hard sale for awhile regardless of what sauce you try to cook it with, especially in these last 2 years with the economy going down the drain in that part of the world.

I agree, the last 5 years have been terrible for the UAE economy, but 2018 has started showing some good signs
