Everyone on the .App Band🎺Wagon 🚌 owns a piece of "world's 1st history" which is "currently" worth less then a lettuce 🥗 burger 🍔.

It will be interesting to see if any members have success with this extension.

Personally, I am sitting on the sidelines with this one.

I will cheer on any member that has success though (y)

I Reg'd 5 .App domains just for s***s & giggles. Had 1 inquiry through Afternic and 2.5 inquiries via FeMail through personal landing page.

People need to buy words which are related to apps or could be developed into one. Not just random single or two letter words and expect them to sell.

IMO - I think it will take time for .APP to mature. I would imagine a lot of the public is not aware of it yet.

It might be a little time before we hear about a sell, but you would imagine someone will more than likely be happy to report it.

I was about to buy a .app, then I realized it is still very early days as people outside the domainer bubble won't go looking for an app they want via it corresponding .app domain. I just don't see the value yet, unless for future-proofing the brand of your app.

I sold ridesharing.app on GoDaddy for $585. Listed it for $499 min offer/counteroffer and got the $585 offer. Tried to counter with the buyer initially but then just sent it to 7-day auction, where I didn't get any further interest. Would have been better off negotiating down a bit with the buyer rather than sending it to auction. I'm a domaining noob though. Really just a tech founder with some domains and I've started dabbling a little in domaining on the side but nothing major. Was a decent name IMHO so maybe could have done substantially better in time but who knows?

Thanks for sharing! It shows that appropriate two worder .app domains will do well as well.

Based on the comments I am hearing on NP, I see people are getting inquiries and offers too. However, since the offers seem to be on low side, they are not selling. Most are waiting for better pricing.

I believe this is not a good trend. If .app domains are not getting sold (due to seller rejecting low offers), the buyer (on a low budget) might not care for the TLD and, might forego having a .app site. This will in-turn have a ripple effect, i.e, stagnation of .app domain sales.

People should realise that currently even a 5x profit is good on the sale of a new TLD and, hope to capitalize on sale of their other .apps once the market picks up ( when more .app domains are developed and acceptance increases)

Lets not hit ourselves on our own feet

Great! This is a perfect example of what .apps to pick up. Ridesharing is all about real time data which needs an app to use. I am glad you sold at a decent price and were not holding on for long. This helps the community of sellers too. Thanks!

I looked at similar existing google play and itune apps before regging my only .app I haven't even bothered to reach out yet. But from what I see if you type the word of your .app you can get contact email at the bottom page of the app developers on the stores. Could be a handy way to find the right match

I agree that most of the .app listings I see seem way overpriced. Even many of the uncommon made up two-worders I see are listed for $10,000+ USD, which seems like a stretch - honestly, I'm not even sure why folks even registered some of the names I've seen. I suppose a few folks may get some sales that way but I don't think most buyers are going to bite. Also, a lot of the names have premium renewal prices which I'm guessing will turn off many buyers - at least those that realize the renewal premiums. I only registered a handful of .app names, all of which renew at the lowest non-premium tier (and I advertised that fact on my GoDaddy .app listing for ridesharing.app).

I really only looked at either non-premium one-worders or two-worders that make some sense (i.e., where people commonly refer to something as a _________ app. While nobody can predict the future, I tend to agree with folks that are skeptical that .app will overtake .com. That doesn't mean there can't be a good market for .app names and maybe some day it will be kind of like .io. And maybe some names will sell well and do well. I personally have one live site on a .app - I like the extension for actual end use in certain cases. But am highly skeptical it will ever unseat .com.

But that might be because I don't have any app domain. lol
