The reg of the day threads seem to be popular, and I find them interesting to see the names that people have picked up, and also the way the way that they found them.

I'll start with a couple of my recent ones.
Escrow Offers.com
I started off by wanting a "domains offered" type of name, and I kept hitting the usual walls wheresuitable names were either in use or parked. I searched some of the expired and dropped lists, only to discover that I had just missed a couple ofuseful ones. I turned to lean domain search.com as a last resort, and that site turned up several reasonable suggestions. I chose EscrowOffers.com as I thought it could be used for more than just domain names.

Casino Demos.com
I was in McDonalds using their free WiFi, and relaxing over a cup of coffee, and I thought I would cruise the dropped list at ExpiredDomains.net. It was about 15 minutes after the day's names had started to be listed. I clicked on the CPC ordering button to try to focus on the better names, and CasinoDemos po[[ed up with a click value of $5.45 ( I think ). I quite like casino site promotion - it's a bit specialised, and not the easiest way to convert traffic as there is a lot of competition, but it does have the benefit of paying out in Bitcoin. Now I'll have to sort out a template to mod for that site.

Each of those names cost me $6.69 for a year's registration with free privacy - that is the current offer for Name Silo account holders.

Thanks for this thread. Here are some names I picked up recently at your reg price:
1. Nearesticecream dot com I believe any ice cream company may find it useful
2. Tufod DOT com I like it because it is pronounceable
3. Dress clever DOT com may make a brandable name for a clothing store
4. Mini cooperation DOT com just fell in love with the search per month
5. Virtual Call Centres DOT com Experiment continues
6. Mechanical Shops DOT com Hmm
7. Building Insurance Comparison DOT com I plan to do outbound to this name
8. Verihi DOT COM (sounds like very high)

Mostly craps but I want to see how it goes. All costed around $86 or some (the 8 plus 4 more names). Just a sale of $100 will give me a cool profit.

Vlogbank.com

A bank full of vlogs

Watching youtubers vlogs etc and then complaining for not getting ad $'s for their vlogs etc

So I thought what if another company paid vloggers more than YouTube etc they would soon have a bank full of vlogs and vloggers would earn more

So typed vlogbank.com in to search and it was available for reg fee so bought it

It sits on my digital shelf for the time being

Givefood.uk

This domain is my cup of tea

More people would give food if they knew it was going to the people that need it etc

This domain if made a website could single handedly solve hunger in the uk

But not by being a charity but by being a business and using ad $''s to give away food thus being self funded and no need for charity

I could do it if I knew how to but I gave the vision for it and it cost me reg fee

I own Givefood.co.uk as well which I bought first also for reg fee

Freecarparks.com

Bought because sick of having to pay to park because the cost of parking is not subsidised by ad $`'s etc which it could and should be

So bought freecarparks.com for reg fee which still is work in progress

Grocerytakeaway.com

Bought this domain because was sick of having to select a booking slot to have groceries delivered two days later and have to pay for the booking slot and thought how come a takeaway can cook any meal from scratch on their menu and deliver it to your home within 45 mins but a supermarket cant pick your items off a shelf and deliver them to you in 45 mins

So I thought there must be people like me that want their groceries delivered within an hour of ordering on the phone

So thought of grocerytakeaway.com and bought it for reg fee

Grocerydrivethru.com

There are coffee chain drive thru 's etc and everything else drive thru 's etc but not a drive thru for groceries etc

Why can't I just pull in to a drive thru and just tap on a screen which groceries I want from the comfort of my car and pay at next window and gave groceries passed through window etc

The future of groceries

So bought grocerydrivethru.com for reg fee

This is a big issue in the UK at the moment. The Deep State Unicorns sold off our hospitals, and also sold the parking franchises. You now have to pay excessive charges to visit sick relatives and friends.

Some years ago (2005 I think), I decided I would start a parking service for adult domain names, but I never got round to writing the software, but I did pick up a hand reg name for it F##kParking.com. I've still got the name, and I'm tempted to put some political comments on it about Unicorn politicians, and the way they rip off the country by selling the assets that they hold in trust for our children.

This domain name solves that problem

If I made this domain name a website it would eventually make all parking spaces free globally even paid for parking spaces and it would make me a few billion quid for doing it and as a byproduct I'd get all the data of everyone driver that parked in a space that a website on my domain paid for which would create huge ££££££''s in ad £' 's as well

It would be a win for the customer as they get to park for free even in paid for spaces

A win for advertisers

And a win for me £££££' 's lol

But that's the beauty of tech concepts

But domain investors generally wouldn't pay more than £10 for this domain because they have their domain name investor blinkers on not their tech concept / venture end user goggles on lol

But I think tech venture first domain investor second

Footyseats.com

I bought this as I like footy

The premier league is one of the best leagues in the world right now and the amount of money being splashed out on players at the moment is huge but if amazon who are looking at buying the Prem tv rights get involved etc players will be on £1m a week in no time

Prices of seats will get really expensive

I reckon advertising on a website with this name would be able to allow people to satchel their favorite team for free

Plus it would also be a good fit for the bookies to offer the same concept but they would recoup the money they pay out paying for free football seats by advertising their bets on such a website etc plus there are a few multi billion quid bookies in the uk etc

Again a win win win situation

I think there is one more thing - such as price for domain name renewal and price for the transfer. If you are not going to use domain name for more then 1 year that is okay to buy at low fee.

nick.gold

Bought this for reg fee approx £5

But it renews at over £100 per year

It is a first name & surname and the shortest possible version of it plus it has its other meaning lol

It could be for sale

The first thing I though of when I saw the name was a ste for stealing gold. I once set up an antiques business with a girl called Constance, and her son ( Nicolas ), and my name is Robert. We called the business Con, Rob and Nick ( this is a true story ), we changed it after a week though.

Those gold renewals are a real madness. It took me a month to steel myself to renew English.gold, and I had to pay $73.99 for a transfer to a different registrar.

Lol very interesting which registrar did you transfer your. Gold to because I don't mind paying $74 to renew a. Gold which is about £50 a year which is about half what it's going to cost me where they are lol

But as you say it's the first thing people see when they see when they see that name lol

But I bought

🇬🇧💰.ws

An emoji domain for about £5 and still own but I do need to start selling one or two so most of my domains are available to buy at a decent price etc

Economics/University. com

Joined Master's in Economics,I planned to study with making own notes and explanations and putting it online. Searched a domain name for that purpose and found this one but couldn't stick to the plan of developing it

A couple years ago had an idea for a "data breach" type of site.
After trying different options regged InfoBreach com

Great name, but I somehow didn't manage to renew it...
Lesson learned - whenever have plans for a domain start developing it right away after registering

LolDot.com

I have a weakness for 2x3 .com domain names, and this may have coloured my judgement. I saw the name on an expired list at a reasonable price, so I submitted a bid and bought it. I want to use it to pull surfers over to some of my domain names for sales sites, so I'll list some of the jokey names like PenisLand.com. I'll also use it to explain the importance of a domain name, and why they should consider all the interpretations of the name. In fact, these strange names must work to the advantage of some of these sites. We all mock the owners of Pen Island, but how many other pen sales sites can you think of?

The other interesting thing about this names is the use of the word "dot". I wonder how surfers get on with the word in a domain name as well as a character to separate the extension.
