Transfer of ownership

1. The person named as administrative contact at the time the user name and password are secured shall be the owner of the domain name. You agree that prior to transferring ownership of Your domain name to another person (the Transferee") You shall require the Transferee to agree in writing to be bound by all the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Your domain name will not be transferred until we receive such written assurances or other reasonable assurance that the Transferee has been bound by the contractual terms of this Agreement (such reasonable assurance as determined by Fasthosts in Fasthosts sole discretion). If the Transferee fails to be bound in a reasonable fashion (as determine by Fasthosts in Fasthosts sole discretion) to the terms and conditions in this Agreement, any such transfer will be null and void.
2. For further details and to action any transfer of ownership please login to Your Fasthosts control panel.

This sounds insane - written agreement? for real? But I wonder if it isn't all part of an automated email verification process, where the new owner just has to click "accept" like everywhere else.

Hasn't anyone in this thread transferred a name out of Fasthosts? Can you comment on your experience?

I was browsing the site as I loooooooooove to register cheap domains then I saw that and I thought..errrrmmm...maybe not!!!!!

Yes, good catch. Let's hope it turns out to be nothing, as I'm just getting started with them and have about 40 new regs pending.

Ive made one push to another fasthosts account and one transfer out to a name.com account.

all went well with no complications.

I just receive an email from sales department after I sent an email to sales department

"
Thank you for providing your supporting documentation.

We have noticed that you have made multiple applications for an account and domain registrations with IP addresses located in different geographical locations and as a result you have failed our verification process.

You application has been declined and will not be accepted in future.

That's too bad. This registrar seems to suffer from an excess of caution.

I ended up with only 12 of the 40 names I regged earlier today because they took so freaking long to process my order. Said they'd call and never did. Then they just went ahead and ran the order through.

I have no issues with this registrar. They are great so far. Fast registration, very nice and user friendly account interface. We will see in the future

Is there a delay in your registrations while they decide whether or not to call you? Or is it immediate like other registrars?

Instant registration. No delay at all
I have signed yesterday, they call me 2h later and everything works just fine after that. No issues at all.

I reg. 55 names so far, and some of them was not available on GD and NameCheap
This registrar is TUCOWS and I think everything will be fine.

Got a incoming push today. Opened new account for that matter.

All went straight. Have to say that the front-end is a bit clunky. Backend is way better than most others.
Overall very happy so far.


As for verification:

I did not wait for that call (heard different stories here at np) but after registration i started the livechat and asked for verification for my newly created account.
She asked me about my email.. 60sec later it was all set and done.

I'm in the US myself and whenever I try to register a domain at FastHosts I always receive the following message

"We need to contact you to confirm some details

An advisor will call you within an hour - Please provide a contact phone number that we can reach you on below."

I provide a phone number and wait but never receive any phone calls. The next morning usually around 3 or 4 in the morning is when the names are finally registered and placed into my account. I chatted with support to see if there was anyway to bypass this verification process each time I placed an order so that I could register the domains instantly. Support asked if I was outside the UK and when I told them yes, they told me that there is no way for me to bypass it. They said it's an automated security process.

Anyone in the US having luck with registering domains instantly at FastHosts?

No

I've registered a few more domains with FastHosts today and both times it only took a minute or two for the registrations to complete. Stopped getting the "We need to contact you to confirm some details" message I was seeing previously when registering names there.

No problems here....don't jinxx me

I reg domains in here at 3 days ago, with 3 times support chatting, 2 times re-send email to them for verify account.

And I haven't got any reply/ feedback yet.

What are you doing Fasthosts? You don't need new customers?

I 've been asking this question for over a week now and no answer from any NP member.

I set up an account to try them because of the low reg price special, but I will not reg any more names until we have more information.

What is the point of saving money on regs if when it comes time to push or transfer to a buyer you have problems?

As I said:

Had a incoming push. Worked absolutely flawless.


So i guess for my counterpart (push out) it also worked as intended because the overall transaction was pretty fast, not to say instant.

Did you mean an incoming transfer?

A push is usually a transfer between account at the same registrar.

haven't had any tansfers to/from them

maybe my terminology is off, but to me there are:
push incoming/outgoing
transfers incoming/outgoing

Can't get account approved.
