Hello everyone... I'm Sam Quino from the Philippines. A newbie in the domain name arena who had stocked up an inventory of more than 2,000 domains since I started investing last November 2015.

I had a day job working as a senior executive of an end-to-end logistics and supply chain company. I have been online for years but it has been in an "on-and-off" basis due to a very limited time spent for this particular activity. On top of my day job, I love working online. I have been an affiliate in clickbank, jvzoo, amazon and other affiliate market place, and had also been in Google Adsense.

Late last year, I started investing in domain names. And while I'm building up knowledge and skills required for a successful domain investor, I slowly bought domains. Today, my domain name portfolio has now reach to more than 2,000 plus and realized that it's not easy to manage this inventory without the tools required for effective domain management.

I'm on the next phase of this domain investing journey which is the "selling" side of the business. Had started using Flippa and Sedo, while outsourcing some to other domain brokers in Afternic and Uniregistry.

Namepros was recommended to me by one of my source of knowledge. So here I am, to learn more and share some of my experience in this challenging and wonderful world of domain investment.

I am also curious to know that.

2000 domains..not a single sale now...

How many inquiries are you receiving per month?

Please share if you have no problem.....just curious.

hi @nvdomains thanks for tossing this question.

2000+ domains is the existing inventory count of my portfolio, and some of these had already been sold out... the reason why i build this up in numbers because my investment approach is for long term and not for immediate flip...

Considering that you are new to the domain game and that your inventory is 2000 names please think very carefully about your investment strategy. Most everyone on this forum that knows what they are talking about would never recommend someone new to domaining jumping in so deep so quick.

If you are in it for the long term with you initial investment, then you are looking ahead at a very high renewal cost each year. Make sure the names you are holding on to are going to pay for themselves in the end, otherwise you have an unsustainable business plan.

At 2000 names I would hope that you are selling at least 20 a year for a minimum of $1,000 each to cover your renewals and expenses. (or 200 for $100, etc) Otherwise you are in for quite a financial mess ahead.

Keep in mind that the majority of domainers who have become successful had to drop a good majority of their first purchased domains once they realize what actually sales. Your risk is you purchased a large stock before understanding what customers want to buy. This means either you must have great instincts or you stand to loose big for going so big, so quick.

Best of luck!

-Mike

Thanks very much Mike for taking time in giving this great piece of advise. You are right. I'm doing a long term investment and really make sure that each name will pay for itself in terms of renewal... Knowing that some of these names has lesser future demand, these will be the first to go during the sanitation drive..

Congrats for sales.

I bought bad domains in the initial days. That's why I am skeptical about purchases by new domainers.

You seem to have not done bad purchases. Good luck.
