Hey namepros

Just trying to get other peoples views on some reviews and tips to help me in figuring out what I could change to my website to make it better.
What do you guys think of it so far?
Is there anything that needs to be fixed?

Thanks!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I like the simplicity of it, clean look. Don't have much to add.

Can I ask how you chose that name?

What does "grenade ape" have to do with domains? At first I thought it was a game site and thought it was a very good idea and brand for a game, then I see it's a domain site.

Then I see a ruddy great big picture, seems to be the fashion this week. I don't see any names for sale. For the purpose of the review I scroll down instead of hitting "back". I then see some domains for sale.

Why do people do this???????????

Why people do what?
It's a basic domain portfolio website with a very catchy brandable domain yeah I can see how it seems like a video game website so what.. Look at godaddy what does go daddy have to do with domains... It seems more like a porn site then anything.

And if you're not liking the placement of the domains well thanks for your input and I'll def change something! :)
I pretty sure you have to scroll down on every website you go on... besides that the domains are not that far down the site.

  • The name is good.
  • http://grenadeape.com/broker.html This page appears to be broken.
  • I'd remove the print and stumbleupon icons from the addthis widget.
  • Link to your twitter and facebook page for social proof. Don't force your visitors to re-tweet or facebook share your page
  • I would also add an e-mail opt box in exchange for 5 or 10% off a domain name. When you have their e-mails you can try up-selling related domain names or website building/logo design/seo services.
Just a few suggestions! Good Luck

Thanks for the awesome input! I will definitely change something's you've suggested.
I am in the process of fixing and updating those pages that follow under broker.

What do you guys think of the logo with the domains? I've seem some domain websites with lists, which way of showing your domains is the best for professional, friendly, easy to use look?

What do people want to see? They want to see the name and the price. That's all that matters. A list is good. You can easily see the names and scroll down them.

I registered hundreds of names in 2000 and put up a site for them. I was quite new to web design at the time and just had long lists centered on the page! Didn't look "professional" but did the job (the visitors were more interested in the names than how they were presented)!

I have added and change a few things. Please let me know what you think of the changes.

If you had any ideas what I should post on the service page to make it look professional and stand out. I'm still making updates on the service page.

I'm trying to program the table my self so that's why it doesn't look that professional yet.... I still have to change some CSS.

Where would be the best spot for a subscription box I on the front page?

All I see is a massive picture of camouflage, which took some time to load. Just out of curiosity I scrolled down and saw some names. You only have to hope your visitors will do the same. What I also saw was your social media links. You're providing an exit from your site before you show your names.

The way you present the names with logos is very good but would be a lot of work for a long list of names. Certainly good for premium names to show how they might be used, and ideal if you don't have many names (had another look and noticed you have lists elsewhere).

As I said before, I wouldn't worry about it looking "professional" as the visitor is only interested in the name and the price, but if you like, yes it looks professional enough.

I think the home page would be ok for a subscription box but I would put it at the bottom of the page. I would also put the social media links there. Same as before. The only thing that matters here are your names. Let people see them with the minimum of distraction (and scrolling).

Hi,
-the logo is great, I like it!
-The site is not responsive (I can only See 'CON' from the contact menu)
-I don't like the military background (not enough catchy)

Cheers

Nice website. try to color it a little and add a cool design so it won't look dry.

Great looking site a few quick notes below:

  1. love the name and logo, yes it doesn't tell me who/what you are right away, but it is a brandable domain and logo and I will remember that more then a keyword.
  2. Website is not responsive, Mobile ready sites is huge for Google this year.
  3. Use alt-tags with the keyword of the domains in your images, you might get lucky, I had a client find me because of my owl image with a keyword lol
  4. A quick FAQ page or a page that explains the services or the process when I buy your domain
  5. Maybe a Share link in the domains, You might have a visitor that will share the domain with others.
Good luck and much success Auggie
