The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
there are only 6 sales at dnsaleprice so i guess the market was never really big to start with, perhaps buy and develop is the way to go?

They never caught on. Move on to another niche.

On a side note, QR is a TM.

qrcode is tm of denso wave company, qr"keyword" or keyword"qr" is ok to use.

I sold qrcash.com for $1,300; however, the name I had fits and makes sense with the qr code niche. I run another qr code type website and I do agree the domains and qr codes will fade away; they will still be avail for primary uses for many years to come; moreover, newer technology will advance and always be avail such as NFC and AR.

Thanks,

J

:talk:

if they are still available to hand reg, they may not be so great or brandable.

Maybe. QR codes are being used for mobile coupons and payments and they probably will be for some time but those companies don't need domains with QR in them.

The market isn't there right now. Doesn't mean it will never be, but it's not a product or major category of thing, so chances are it won't ever have a big market. Some really good QR domains may still sell decently but most of what people register has little hope.

i do get the ocassional view on qrtshirt/com and another member here has the plural, i am seeing many more products with qr codes on them over the last year, the codes are expanding. Whether that reflects on the domain names is another story

I have 2 domains: qr.pn and q-r.in (in India qr.in is not allowed only 3+ characters, for bundle I also own 1qr.in). What do you think, was it a good investment? fee yearly 100$ for .pn
Consider that the more short a domain, the better codes one can make.

$100 a year ........ouch , could probably buy a good aftermarket .com and save ten years of wasted reg ( my humble opinion) ...... example qrtshirt/com (my name with minimum offer set to that amount)

Well it are 100 USD of course.
I also got qr.mk.

Ok, you could buy qrtshirt.com. But this domain is only about t-shirts. QR.xx is the most native domain for all the QR technology. And the technology is booming. And as I mentioned - the more short a domain is the better QR codes you can base on it. I know domainers often ignore this FACT but as I am working in the branch I know how important such a short domain is.

I think qr.pn must have at least some $$$$ value to an end-user. q-r.in is worse in matters of length but its the shortest possible in India - a gigant growing market - so end user would probably be $$$$$.
And my lovely QR.mk (mk is abv. for "make" on Unix systems, so this domain could be remembered as QR.make/"make QR"), how much could it be? What do you think?

QR is as heavily used as ever in Japan. Every website and most print ads have a QR code.

Sorry but i think a product qrcode domain will do better in the long run. It has a clear message as to it's purpose , how is qr.pn going to make money , you can get qr codes for free on the internet. But it's your money and if you are happy to pay reg fees until dropped or sold good luck to you

Hi, I'm new here and so not sure about the level of knowledge you guys have here. Just avoid if my posting looks amateur. My opinion about QR, since companies provide QR for free, I'm not sure why would one buy a premium domain for QR. Just a thought!

I had ccc.com with the letters QR together.
Sold it for less than mid xxx, fully developed (Made $0 from the development).

I really would like to see a scenario where qrcodes do make money in a business format ............any examples from anyone
