Are there any black domainers?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I'm a Black female and I have been domaining for 7 months and I just realized in all my research I have never come across any stories about black women who are successful with domaing.

I was just curious if you guys know any please give me some names so I can research them.

Thank you.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yep, I'm a black woman.
I don't really know any black women in this business that have been very successful.
I'm more into developing websites, than domaining anyway.

good luck on your research!

There is a very famous black domainer that made tons of money off of IDNs. If i can find an article on him i will refer you to him here. Not exactly sure what his name was though.

Ok

Was it Jermaine Griggs Hear and Play I looked him up but his website looks to me like those get rich quick scames you no how it's just one long azz page and highlighted yellow.

But anyway this guy made 5 million i read off his site.

But thats the only on I could find that was Black.

Thanks for always responding to my post.....

Nope i found him!

Craig Nine is his name!

Craig Nine
Founder, IDNF
Why He Matters: The first domain Craig Nine registered was J99.com. Since that day back in 1999, the 32-year-old SEO consultant and web developer living in Japan – first became interested in IDNs, he didn’t just register a couple of domains to test the waters, he dove in headfirst. Nine is not only the owner of one of the strongest Japanese IDN portfolios, he is also the owner and founder of IDNF, the premier IDN discussion and sales forum, and one of the top sites about Internationalized Domain Names.

Curious, what is the whole point?

If there are 1,000,000 successful black female domainers, be the 1,000,001st ;)
If there are zero, be the first!

Either way, keep your focus on what it is that you do and everything else falls into place, or you realize it doesn't matter anyway.

I read about a search engine that they are trying to gear more towards Black people - do you know anything about this? It's an interesting concept - like TV - apparently much of Google results are geared towards white people...and advertisers might be attracted to a more focused niche.

I think it's interesting...but could see down the line how it affects the original notion of the internet in the 1st place. What are we going to have next - a search engine for each religion?

Ok.....

There is a young black man that made millions at the age 14 I believe he is from Philly I could be wrong but I was wondering why didn't anyone where I'm from ever hear of this man.

I believe that if these young inner city kids knew about all the successful young black people who made money not by rapping or killing or selling or acting or modeling and ect. this would give them hope and a little drive.

If they see others like them doing well in other areas then maybe this success would spreed.

It's so easy for withe people to be encouraged because ever time you turn on the tv there you guys are or the radio in the 33 stories buildings down town.
You could understand so there's no need for me to go on.

As far as I go I definitely plan on making history, my success has already started I have already made national news over a dozen times so I'm well on my way and hopefully I can be some one the children look up to.

Thank you guys for responding.....

He is more of a role model then any rapper to me (by the way not all blacks like rap...Reggae is #1 ;) ....By the way yea im black (mixed black and white) and this is one business admist others that im proud to be in!

It's quite obvious you don't know what you're talking about because Jermaine Griggs happens to be one of the best in the internet marketing business. He started with nothing and believed in himself to set goals in which he had achieved unlike some people who go around and spreading 'scam alerts' all over the internet.

Although I've never met the guy in person. I've seen him at big name seminars along with big name marketers. The guy yaps alot but he knows his stuff so as far as it being 'get rich schemes' I don't think so.

Now as for the race thing about blacks, white or even being Japanese, you need to step outside sometimes and breathe the air ... because that's the same air everyone on this earth is breathing ... or atleast its the same air that's keeping everyone alive.

My Point?. >>> Think out of the box.

Look I never said he was a get rich quick guy I said the site i went to looked like the site that people use to scam others.

I thought it was cool to see the other guy who was a black japanese man doing what he was doing....

Second of all WHAT RACE THING????? I just wanted to no if I was going into a business dominated by white men, and I do have that right to know what I'm stepping into plus you no what i don't have to explain myself.

Peace......

I saw a comedy act about a year ago (Chapelle I think) and there was some reference to the only way out of the ghetto is to rap or play basketball. It's an unfortunate perception.

Being white isn't all it's cracked up to be, either that or I got the short end of the stick because i've had to work my ass off 60+ hour weeks for over 10 years to get what I have today. Skin color has very little to do with success, and environment has everything to do with it. Put a fatherless white kid in the ghetto and see what he makes of his his life, and at the same time the black kids who I went to school with in the suburbs have by all accounts turned into successful, upstanding members of society. Reminds me of that Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places...
