Best registrar to move 500 domains to?

I can’t do Godaddy anymore. They are making it very difficult to navigate and for potential buyers to contact me.

Where is the best place to relocate? I like Name and Dynadot but it’s hard to trust any entity with 500 plus domains.

I started moving everything from GoDaddy to Dynadot last month. Be a few months before I get them all over but so far pretty smooth. Got 133 transferred over so far and picked up 2 expired domains as well so far from their auctions.

I've been with Dynadot for 10 years or so. Don't have 500 there, but never had an issue with them. And you don't have to join a 'discount club' to get their low reg fees, currently 9.83.

Dynadot is my favorite one, great prices (renewal fees are also fine), default setting for auto-renewal is "off", NS (and any other changes) are almost instantaneous, account prepay makes payments fast and easy, UI is excellent, I haven't experienced any glitch yet. I don't know about the support, because I have never had to use it

Sav.com has lower fees, the UI uses a bit different approach but is also great, backorder service is cheap (=regfee) and efficient (if no-one else wants to get the name). There were incredibly serious problems with SAV 1-2 years ago, but they managed to solve most of these. You'll probably need support 1-2 times a year, but now support is competent and very polite.

Dynadot is solid. Easy UI to manage your domains. Reputable registrar and stuff just works like it's supposed to.

I also like namecheap but I think overall dyna is more cost effective and easier when managing a midsize portfolio.

Uni is gone, Epik seems to be a huge risk, Namesilo is nearly unusable(too slow, bugs all over the place), SAV is inconsistent (hard to reach support, constant issues)...For a domainer, Dynadot seems to be at the top with -maybe- Porkbun as a second imo.

Dynadot has been excellent with their prices, their customer service, user interface, AND allowing ALL contact information up front when privacy is off.

Compared to Namecheap, they have the advantage of having both the Afternic FT and Sedo MLS options. With NC, there were recurrent issues with FT approvals showing up even after having completely removed them AND removed the domains from Afternic. Overall, though, their customer support was very good and prices were very competitive.

Congrats on making the change and trying a different venue. GoDaddy still has an issue relating to the lack of registrant email visibility up front. Even if your privacy is off, you have to pay for a yearly protection plan to make it visible. Otherwise, someone trying to contact you has to submit their email information to GoDaddy, to have them forward their message to you.

HOWEVER, for the domains you have remaining at GoDaddy, you might be able to do a work around, with the privacy off, of adding the email to your Organization line. E.g. for organization, you could list "self, with email at [email protected]." That way, someone can still contact you directly without having to submit to the extra steps to send an email to your through the GD servers.

If he is referring to "Whois," Dynadot solves that problem within a second of a click of a button. Privacy off, all contact information present including email displayed up front.

As an update for the issue of a "workaround," adding the line worked for one .tv domain in my GD account. It now reads "Organization is Self Contact at [email protected]." However, the other three .coms I tried now making the changes did not go through. I'm waiting for a callback from customer support. And making registrant contact changes is a formidable process, having to click on and agree to three separate legal agreements totaling over 60+ pages.

So, Dynadot right now is looking so very, very good. Sorry, James. The only reason I keep the three domains at GD at this point is that they are renewed until the end of the decade.

Agree with the above said about Dynadot. They are good, reliable, integrated with both Afternic FT and Sedo MLS and their support is quite helpful too (when you can reach it actually - that's the only small downsize).

But today, in comparison and for my money - Dynadot is a very solid choice.

I’ve used Dynadot before and actually liked it. Sounds like many here like it too!

@James Iles - my main 2 issues are the difficulty of contacting owners as well as the navigation via mobile. For example, there is no way for me to select all domains to make changes. You can’t do it in beta nor in the other version. That’s a big problem for me because mobile is basically all I use these days.

As for the contact issue, it may be resolved. I tested it today on my own domain and the request was forwarded to my email. There was a pop up though that is new and it said they made recent changes. That’s a good step!

I think that Sav and Dynadot are the best registrars for domainers.

Privacy off, all contact information present including email displayed up front.

Do you know that on Dynadot are three types of Privacy: Full, Part and Off. Part Privacy it is shown only your real name from your personal data and the rest of Dynadot Privacy. I think it is cool.

Also do you know that on Dynadot is also AI tool which can describe your domain, for what buyers, write history of a domain and even write a poem.

But Epik has other problems everyone is aware of.

At Dynadot, most people can't contact you. Some people (agents/domainers) know how to contact owner (and I don't)

Namesilo has contact option or on default landing pages (last time I checked).
