Domain Empire

advice After Sedo, Afternic, DAN, where to list next?

NameSilo
Watch
Just getting back into Domaining this past month after about 8-9 years.

I see the industry has changed and consolidated, but with some new players too.

I have my domains listed on:
Sedo (parked for now, too)

Afternic (it is my understanding that now domains listed here will appear on: GoDaddy, Netsol, Dynadot, eNom, Uniregistry (I think), and a couple more.

DAN (formerly Undeveloped, I think)

With all the Afternic related consolidation in this industry, where else should I list my domains, disregarding brandable marketplaces for now?

Once a domain is listed at, Afternic, Sedo, and DAN, is it necessary to list anywhere else? If so, where and WHY?

Still trying to wrap my head around all the consolidation in the industry that occurred while I was away. And get my domains the maximum exposure possible.

Thank you!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You can also list them on Uniregistry, Godaddy Auction, Epik ... there is also Squadhelp and BrandBucket.

The more marketplaces you list them, the more exposure you will get.

And do not forget about a Landing Page so that your potential buyer knows that the domain name is for sale.

You can also outbound your domain names by contacting directly the interested parties throught email or social networks or any other available and accessible solution.

Accepting more payment methods like Cryptocurrencies is a PLUS for your business.

Good luck

Some names are worth trying on places like SquadHelp aka a brandable marketplace.

Welcome back.

Hi Buyerz and AEP!!

Thanks for your responses!

As a follow-up question (and I think this is where I'm getting confused): Aren't my domains already listed on GoDaddy, Uniregistry, maybe not Epik? Because they are listed at Afternic?

I see my domains appear with prices on GoDaddy when I search for them since they are all listed on Afternic with BIN.

So...aren't I already listed on GoDaddy, Uni, etc by default?

Maybe I am using the terminology wrong.

Thanks!

EPIK and Afternic is like Cat and Mouse ! Some of my domain names are removed from Afternic since they been registered on EPIK... so no, domain names added to Afternic they are not listed on EPIK, they have their own marketplace.

Uniregistry gives a good stats about new offers and visits, while you can't find that on Afternic, then I suppose even being partnered, they works independently ... (Afternic is where I got more success, not criticism btw).

For Godaddy, I means putting your domain names on auction, you will get more exposure and attract more buyers (You have to make searchs on this way, it's a strategy I am using).

Also discovered about nameliquidate.com today, worth to try.

Thanks, Buyerz.

I know some marketplaces have exclusivity clauses/ don't play nice together 😁

And I understand that I can go start an aution at Sedo or GoDaddy.

I was spefically asking about where to list my domains (list only, not auction etc) to get maximum exposure everywhere.

What still escapes me is it almost seems like there is Sedo, which is like a self-contained environment, then Afternic, which is a huge distribution channel, then some newer one-off marketplaces like DAN, which has some nice features and responsive customer service.

So, where else to simply list my domains after Sedo, Afternic, DAN? Or do these 3 cover 95% of the industry?

Thanks!

Short of exclusive (brandable) marketplaces - Afternic and Sedo get you exposure across the registrars. So if someone visits InsertRegistrarHere.com and tries to register the domain they will see it is registered, but they have the option to buy it. Plus it gives the buyer confidence since they know brands like Godaddy.

IMHO - DAN (yes, formerly Undeveloped) is the place to park (use NS servers) your domains where you get a great commission rate, customer service, landing pages, and fast payout.

IMHO - Outside of that there isn't much exposure elsewhere - unless you are trying to sell to other domain investors.

Michael M.

Thank you so much!! That's what I was thinking, but thought I must be missing something.

I have some experience from years ago, but thought I must still be missing something!

I cannot imagine how confusing this must be for the absolute beginners. Yikes!

Thanks, All!

Hi kite26!

You know, I had heard about DAgents. Then forgot about them. Lol.

Daaz is a new one on me.

I very well may add one final MPlace to the list.

Domain Agents would be a 4th marketplace for me, which is probably enough!!!

Thank you,

  • Maybe you could try the Chinese market

The more marketplaces you list them, the more exposure you will get.

Can we still list names with other if listed with Afternic?
You have to use Afternic DNS for their Landing page , how can you list with Sedo or elsewhere.
Could you please put some light on it.

As long as you are the owner of the domain name , you could list in a market place for sale. Adding to many market places give the maximum exposure to your names. End of the day those are your assets and you are paying maintenance fee (to renew ) for them.

It is a strong best practice to give maximum exposure to your names.

If you choose to use Afternic as your market place to using landing pages , then you can list them directly.

1) First add to afternic , once approved focus on other market places
2) Most of the market places has the process to verify the domain ownership
- e.g:
You can add the names and share a screenshot from your registrar panel that you own the names and if there are any conflicts, will be approved straight away
(or)
update the DNS settings for your names e.g: name server changes or adding a text record..etc, once the names are approved at those market places change the name servers back to your preferred market place (e.g: Afternic or Sedo or DaaZ..etc) showing the landing pages

As per as DaaZ.com is concerned, its much easier to add your portfolio. It takes exactly 5 minutes to load your names. This video can guide you on the same :

P.s: Some brandable market places has strict rules of using their landing pages , but most of the other market places its optional to use the landing pages.

Looking back at this thread as wondering easiest marketplaces to add bulk listings?
Where to list without parking which marketplace? I can say Godaddy you don't have to park and can have auction or bin make offer.

I think the real question is where to list domains without having to park them on same marketplace.

Same here, I just returned seriously (or officially) last month. I semi-stopped domaining in 2015 or so. I focused on the social media for my websites. But social media has become a monster and biased.

My domaining knowledge was about 10 years ago. I only listed in Sedo, GD auction and Bodis but I never bothered the last one, when I opened it again there were inquiries from buyers, I missed a potential sales.

Namepros is a good site to learn again. I learned that there are other marketplaces such as DAN, Afternc, Epik, Daaz, Dynadot, Efty, Brandbucket and Alter, and many more.

Since I am just doing this, pretty easy to upload text files with many domains to Dan, Domainagents, Afternic has some weird bugs...if domain is still listed by prior owner.
