Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

We are becoming acquainted with the virus pretty rapidly, I ask you folks, how many people do you know that has COVID-19? How many of you folks know somebody that knows somebody that has COVID-19 , I know of one case, My friends cousin, who passed away in Louisiana

The media is driving fear as hard as they can, like i said above, If you just take the media news i posted today alone, your nerves will go to the very edge, as those media news articles completely slam the door on any hope for us, completely, which is totally wrong as you guys know, because we can see that everyone is not falling dead, everyone isn't catching COVID-19 , obviously not, we are all here talking about COVID-19. Psychological warfare friends, fear mongering to the 10th degree by the media. don't buy into it, it can fuck you up worse than any COVID-19 can, your mind controls your body, don't make yourself sick because the media insists on taking your nerves to your breaking point.

Already 110,075 confirmed deaths in the World, and still folks saying this is all a lie.
You have no respect for the situation, for the people working in this situation, the medical workers, the police, the supermarket workers, etc. To all these people risking their lifes daily.
And definitely no respect for the people dying and for the families losing their beloved ones.

When will the 'experts' learn? We must take all those deathly ill with the virus, put them on planes and fly them to all points around the globe...no matter how remote.

On the way, each toilet should be licked to ensure each and every strain will be picked up. Do away with social distancing so they can embrace and fully kiss everyone they pass on the mouth to make sure 'herd immunity' has the best chance of succeeding.

In case no one is sure...the above is sarcasm. If you are one of those that feels it is just a media controlled 'fake' illness or that it is not all that bad, may I encourage you to volunteer at a hospital that is treating some of the people diagnosed with Covid19. Of course you will not need to wear a mask or PPE since it is not real...just PM me your personal info and I will locate a facility within a reasonable distance of your location.

They won't go. They say all their bs from their homes, but they are too scared to go to a NYC hospital for example to help. They are disrespecting the true brave people who are working everyday at Hospitals fighting with the virus and trying to save people's life, the police, the supermarket workers, etc.

my belief is that the illness is real and people are dying from it, however i also believe that its hyped up by media because there are other things going on behind scences about this virus.. even prince william said its all hyped up.... as well as many others... and in in temrs of keeping people locked down, killing their businesses and income, their social lives, etc, then the cure truly is worse than the problem.

just check some videos of people going to hospitals or on the streets, china, newyork, etc.. seeing no lineups to test points, and no chaos in hospitals.... while at same time tv news are showing the opposite.... we all saw videos of news showing same hoispital scenes while talking about different countries etc.. i mean what else do you need as proof... there always was more to everything in history than we were told. so make no mistake about it... this here is no exception to that rule. but you can believe what u want. there was always people who were content with believing just what the news feed to them.... and those who who tried to look for truth. its how life works.. and people.

My concern is that a 'passerby' to this thread, regardless of country of origin, will see something that will make him/her not take necessary steps to protect those around them due to a propaganda based post.

There are always things going on behind the scenes, whether it is when we being trained in primary school or during election cycles or during global emergencies. As I said before, all those thing happen on a pay grade above mine..all I can do is be prepared for as many contingencies as possible.

I always try to be tolerant of all people and their viewpoints and opinions, but when they can cause harm to others, I start to lose my tolerance.

I am not sure 'hyped up' is as accurate as saying it is being, or will be, used for other purposes. We have yet to see what the eventual fallout from this will be. Regarding hospitals and whether they are busy or not, see some of my previous posts.

When you even mention the flu in comparison to the current virus, you immediately show how uninformed you are.

Also in regards to small business or businesses in general, first rule of thumb - have 3-6 months of savings for unforeseen circumstances. If you go belly up in times like this you haven’t planned well.
