Which brands do you prefer for protecting your domain from loss or impairment?

I previously invited input for a new brand name for a product/service that protects domain owners from unforeseen risks and provides optional insurance against economic loss. The concept was introduced here.

After a few days of reviewing domain submissions, we now have a screened list of prospects for this project and are looking for some input on name selection before making a final decision.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I viewed many as of approximately equal in quality, so voted for a number. I prefer it to have the name Name in it.

If I had to vote for only one it would have been NameSeal I like that it is short, that the two words are of equal length looks better aesthetically to me, and we often use a seal for something analogous to this service.

Best wishes for the project.

Bob

Okay, I'e decided...of the front runners it has to be DNprotect.com from those in the poll. One of the other top runners brings a circus act to mind...NameProtector.com is also pretty good..

Voted NameSeal and Assurer. Although NameSeal for me describes the business better.

Now I am looking into the poll and astonished seeing VettedName in front. It was far behind hours ago. I do even not understand what it means, as the only domain in the list.

My translator says it must be a Veterinarian office. Heeeh? :cow:

EDIT:
Nothing to offend.
This name could be a proposal by me if my English was better. FrozenName.com comes to my mind :xf.laugh:.

I read all earlier posts now and the idea comes from Nigeria. Afaik Nigeria is the biggest country in Africa and one of the best developed. So now I wonder why there are not more votes for it. (y)

Correct me if I am wrong, but from the other thread it seemed that it is not just protection service? It is also pre-purchase assurance/verification/clearance?

Also, noun+verb format would be unusual for branding. The same for Noun+Adjective.
Exactly. Here’s a couple options I came up with this morning.
DnAssurance.com
DomainValid.com

I'm a bit sad to see several names very close to what I submitted on the list and I think mine are as good or better.

For example:

VettedNames.com
VettedDomains.com

Vetted is a great name it means

"make a careful and critical examination of (something)."

Or this...

vetting - Formal and thorough examination (usually by an expert) prior to grant of approval or clearance.

DomainValid.com is another one I thought of.

I submitted NameMask.com and NameDrill.com but they were not listed. So I voted for NameProtector.com. Rob, I wish you good luck.

Thanks Brad. I really did not know the term.

I edited my post before and added to it.

From my research it seems that "to Vet", "Vetted" or "Vetting" are related to the word "Veterinarian" which was originally derived from the Latin word "Veterinae" which means Cattle in English. So I assume that the same way a Veterinarian has to do a thorough examination of a herd of Cattle to make sure that they are all okay and can be given a seal of approval the same principal can apply when Vetting people (or domains in this case).

Just think of Domains as Cattle and then Vetted Names or Domains can make more sense. :)

another Epik Promo thread

my prediction
epik "polls" are more frequently in the future

having 100 alternatives
shows it's promotion

nobody is seriously into naming
as then there would be a 3 or 5 word choice

next time @Rob use only a few options..
This is a serious service which is being put together and the naming part is the crucial starting point which is the reason this thread was started. You have seen in previous two threads that domains like FullVenue and Toki were acquired for important services.

I should visit the Epik University!

So I assume that the same way a Veterinarian has to do a thorough examination of a herd of Cattle
Once I accompanied a Veterinarian through farms with cattles in my former job. This experience makes it hard to think of clean things like domains ... On the other hand you have to examine the inside - of domains, too.

Just think of Domains as Cattle
Better not. I´ve written to much in this forum today. Everything follows now must be nonsense. :troll: Looking TV, probably Netflix and celebrating the land of opportunity.

I'd feel most safe with a domain name attorney referral service. I have NameAttorneys.com that would be a good name for such a service.

Since we're talking animals... Let's suggest the name to fatcow.com ... Perfect match :)

I was told that 'DN' was too limiting, yet DNprotect.com is on the poll, and scoring well???

Oh, okay now I understand, by the way Domain Herd is available to register. :)

Brilliant... loving it :) Got me thinking. For this project either DNshepherd (available) or nameshepherd (unavailable) would be a nice one as well.
