I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Unfortunately, the reason behind this influx of premium domains may not be as positive, as I'm pretty sure at least 2 longtime Canadian domainers have died and this influx is their stock slowly expiring and being sent to TBR.

are you serious? How do you know this?

I find it extremely unlikely that suddenly at least two long time canadian domainers end up dying at same same time

I've been buying some ,CA domains during this onslaught and some of them were already listed for big bucks on GoDaddy/Afternic, so I was forced to ask to get them removed. Then I checked their Afternic accounts (thousands of .CA and .COM words in each) then went to WHOIS to see who they were, got the names and addresses and checked obits, and got hits on two of them who died in December-January.

These domains were mostly registered in 2000 and renewed every year until 2018 - I sent emails outlining the situation, but they went unanswered.

I am not going to go into details on what their names are, but the evidence fits perfectly.

I put a cpl requests in with Namespro and was unsuccessful in both.

Looking at the list which was bar far the largest i have seen in a long..... time. (179 names picked up )
Namespro the first name they were able to grab was in spot #151 and looking at their bid list they had bids in on 74 domains. they did get quite a few at the end.

Has anyone here dealt with MyID support?
I made a small sale to a reseller and it seems like they just don't want to provide me the Auth Code. I have mailed them twice (and they have seen both the emails), left a message through their support page and even tried calling them (goes to voicemail).
Buyer is a nice person otherwise if it was an end user I could have lost a sale.
Domain is older than 80 days. So that shouldn't be a problem.
I might try contacting CIRA now as they've mentioned on their page that if a registrar fails to provide Auth Code under 5 Calendar days we can reach CIRA directly.
I have, no response, then I contacted CIRA, and response came very quickly.

Was not impressed, asked for all my auth codes, and moved everything out.

Yep, and remember the same thing happened on GoDaddy with all those CryptoCoin domains, as well as premium words like Carrot.com.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.

I had a NLN .com at Dynadot for years.... missed re-newing by a week or so and they already had it at auction!!! Have been late to renew on many other names that weren’t so premium....by over a month on a few occasions and they had held them for me no problem!!

But if it’s “primo”... no registrar will do a courtesy hold.... as I found out the hard way

I suspected as much. Philippe Theriault is one I believe.

I see NamesPro has dropped their $3.98 .ca registrations, anyone find any good deals that are valid now?

I would have sold you evil.ca but MYID wouldn't let me into my account today. I had a whack of cash for it.

It has to be a positive.... evil, hatred, virus, aids.... none of those are positives

It's hard to build a business website called evil :wideyed:

Would something like Sensation.ca qualify?
Just clicked on your link..

Namepros a suspicious site...?

Didn't mean to, I just copied and pasted the text from the site and something may have been auto-translated by NamePros.

It seems to be trying to using an HTTPS for namepros.com using domainrecap.com and that makes it look "suspicious".

Would make a great redirect to the Liberal's main website..even better if you cloaked it.

Yes, awesome domains for political domain, or even contested corporate issues, like Tim Hortons, and their benefit retraction etc... very powerful.

Yup, I remember last year I was going to go on a shopping spree looking for for all the political incorrect phrases that were causing uproars...eg "panties in a bunch" and redirect the domains to the persons Twitter/Facebook account who complained..then realized how expensive it could get. Settled for just handregging Stick/To/The/Knitting.com and redirected it to Jennifer Keesmaat's Twitter account for a couple months because she put up a fuss about it.

The problem with long redirects like that one is no one will know it but me..better to stick with short, popular one like the evil.ca.

Did you know...you may not register a .ca name if the third level domain is taken- for example justice.on.ca would make justice.ca not available..

The question is why would anyone want justice.on.ca ?

A little bit self limiting!

picked up a few regfee....... around 3USD each today.. I think some are pretty good!

getfunding
selfdriven
bestgift
freeways

Congrats. I especially like GetFunding, SelfDriven and BestGift - freeways not so much. BestGift would be superb for a Canadian site that provides a service with gift suggestions after you enter keywords, with a uniquely Canadian flavour. GetFunding would work great for either crowd funding site, a startup exchange funding, or a loan aggregator, among others. I am sure you thought of all these, but ideas that I had right off.
