I didn't know that namespro.ca has hit counter for parked pages. They also offer for sale landers and a business card landing page with hnit counter. Anyone have success or use this feature?
Just waiting for dns to change on one, test it out

It works well. I get contacts and offers through their lander. I wish it looked better, but beggars can't be choosers.

Is that near guelph? I have a friend moved from here to there. I send him pics of me bbq'ing all the time lol
Seriously though, I would consider pointing my names to domainbrothers landing pages if they would give us some kind of deal on transfers in, or reg, but transfers more important. Best we can do is 11.30$ at namesilo atm

I have NameIt.ca which I thought might be good to set up as a site for just my .ca domains.

Been holding on to SportsNut.ca for a while now, should have developed this a long time ago, just no time lol... Now with the Olympics coming up I am regretting it even more...

go Canada!! :)

SportsNut is goood. Do you work for the domainbrothers Juana? I see for sale landers are more appealing than offer pages, still more interested in scoring some kind of transfer deal, working with someone in this industry from Canada, though that is a .com you put for sale on here. I love both extensions.lol

Not really,
Domain name is worth more than 40k

Domain pricing, is definitely one of the hardest things i have encountered, I know a lot goes into the pricing and one of the key factors is how long your willing to hold a name to get top dollar. Looking at BookDomains.ca for $40k, if it was mine i would be looking at how i could justify that price, what is the end use. ie are you selling book domains, or looking at booking domains in some fashion? I own NewBooks.ca which is a bigger market i feel as new books are being published daily on all platforms paper/digital etc. now if i received 10% of the $40k i would be very happy.. ( If I had BookDomains.ca in my portfolio i would probably ask $1k and take $500 )

[ BookDomain.com sold for $310 usd in 2014 ]

I have a few hundred Names with Domain Brothers, and they keep asking me to put a price on my names... but like everyone i want a good price for my domains and don't want to leave $$ on the table, but I also would rather sell 10 names a month at decent / average price then one name a year at a great price, a steady income with some name turnovers would be ideal for my tastes.

The second problem i see is if your holding out for your asking $40k for that name ( and i hope you get it ) and your building the case to the end user as to why they need your domain at your asking price... Meanwhile someone like myself who is just trying to keep his head above water, and sells similar domains for $xxx -$x,xxx just to get a steady cashflow and pay bills kind of undermines the .ca price.

I like it when .ca domain prices are published, it makes it a lot easier to close a sale when i can use recent .ca sales as a guide or proof of market value ( besides all the traffic and other stats ) some buyers just need to know that other people are paying similar prices for their domains.

take this post for what it's worth, just my opinion.

Thanks for the info Dan. Where do you get your sales numbers from?
I was looking at namebio and the recent sales, visiting each site to see how many were end users or what was there.
ViralPep.ca caught my attention
https://namebio.com/viralpep.ca Namebio says Dec31,2017 it sold. Seems high
Strange thing is the name never seems to have been registered
WHOIS search results for viralpep.ca
Great news! Domain viralpep.ca is available! Register it today! From cira whois
Maybe it is a typo @Michael can you confirm this sale of viralpep.ca the link is above?

Learning for me is why it sold, how it sold, who it sold to. ReviveSpa,ca that is an end user, beautiful name
They probably came looking for it. Sold $1500 very reasonable price imo

Was doing some calculating .ca is gaining about 5,000 reg's a day,
Domains registered: 2,703,395
That would probably be new reg minus drops =

Been looking I just don't see .ca marketed anywhere and the 30% number still bothers me.

I bought mnm(dot)ca for 5k

40K for BookDomain.ca is nothing short of wishing upon a make believe star.

You an ask but getting is a whole other bowl of wax.

Loans.ca is a typical because all domains like loans, casino, sex etc command a high dollar value. One can advertise those sales till the cows come home and still not get 40k for bookdomain.ca.

The world is full of dreamers and in this business it's ok to dream big, just remember that in the meantime we have to pay the bills and therefore a few nominal sales will be more than welcome.

My average sale price for a .ca seems to be about 1.5k and I'm very happy with that.

@dancarlson your post is spot on the button (y)

Rejected a $1000 offer for a mortgage related .ca today, I countered at $12k and spooked my fish. I believe there's much more in the tank for that industry.

I don't see much in the tank for "bookdomains". Books and publishing are large industries but combining that with domains, which is the smallest niche I can actually think of, is not going to get $40000 IMO.

Take a real good look at the list in Dan's post and honestly compare your name to those. I personally wouldn't hand reg your name.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I hope I'm being constructive.

It was a mistake picked up from DNJoural that Ron has since corrected (it was originally listed as #8 on the ccTLD chart for the week ending December 31st). It was a .com sale not a .ca sale and I think he made the mistake because the venue reported eight other sales that week which were all .ca. I just fixed it in our database, thanks for the heads up.

http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2017/20180104.htm

It was an end user sale for a Social Media Marketing company.

Thanks for the update
