I just saw the sale of Horse.Horse reported on Sedo domain sales this week for $2,000.
Why would someone spend $2,000 on such a name? Unable to figure out this sale!!

Can somebody explain??

The explanation may be fruitful in thinking from other's point of view. Maybe I am missing something when it comes to new gTLDs!!

We have a few of these:

mba.mba
events.events
accountants.accountants
cruises.cruises

We're in the event space so probably will build on events.events but also really like mba.mba. Curious what the market is for that if horse.horse was "underpriced" at $2k

Nice ones.. It's really hard to determine market value but the few I was able to get early on will not be let go unless I can sell them in the XX,XXX's. Where in the XX,XXX is unclear this early on..

I've had three offers for one of them this week alone, lowest offer was $2,500.00, highest was $7,500. I kindly declined all three offers, from three different end users..

For me: Credit.Credit is different than CreditCredit.com
Credit.Credit is unique
CreditCredit.com is not unique
Credit.com is unique

They are all unique unless I'm missing something?

How do you determine what is top level?
when you buy CreditCredit.com? Simple: when Credit.com is taken
top level domain is not a second choice domain...

Personally I have a good .Horse domain for sale for one million dollars.
If you think I'm crazy: no problem, yes I'm crazy... Haha
And I'm patient...

Maybe the buyer has a horse which he has named 'horse'?

Interesting to note, the only current Olympic event that involves animals is Equestrian (Horses) !

More like a CN investor

Of course, buyer could be also 'just a Chinese'.

What I have learnt over the time is that the Chinese are crazy in terms of their investments.

Some 70 year old guy investing his half of his money to maybe get a good ROI of his input in 10 years is nothing special there.

Chinese like gambing so much, and their government have restricted access to gambling, by the way they block to register .BET domain in China.

Its funny how most great sales are going to china.
Is it necessary to find out how may domains the Chinese are dropping to selling out?
