news L7.com sells for $60k

I noticed the no reserve auction for L7.com ended at only $60k and change. Seems very low for such a short .com name. I would think that Chinese investors would be all over that name and be willing to pay in the 6 figure range at least.

I'll never understand these names, as a US citizen. There just aren't any of these types branded to the public.

They are not common in the US but quite common in China.

A big L could also be seen an an upside down 7 - which means the domain could be interpreted as 77.
Or, a small l could be seen as a 1 - than we have 1 and 7 which means 8 - the well known 'power digit'.

You might need to change your name from "King Of Top" to King Of Everything. You are good of analyzing things:)

That is not true... How about 3M.com?

L7.com is an amazing name and flippa com no reserve will most of the time get a bad deal for seller...

L7 is also great visually, as L and 7 complete the square...
But, imho, LN.com domains are undervalued, as are LLN.com, LLLN.com, considering their rarirty and memorability...

There are bunch of ways to bring meaning to LN...

L7 - just nice look
L7 - Level 7 (very high level)
L7 - Lucky 7 (as someone mentioned above)
L7 - Life, Love, Loyalty, Luck, Light, Laughter, Liberty.

You can do lots for 7's
"LG" brand "Life's Good "
L7= Luckiest Life
Turn 7 up side down = L

It also slang for "square". I just wanted to post a music video.

"The expression "L7" can be heard in the Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs song "Wooly Bully" ("Let's not be L7, come and learn to dance..."), in the Rick James song "Bustin' Out" ("L7- just a little too damn straight..."), in the Paul McCartney song "C Moon" ("I could be L7 and I'll never get to heaven if I fill my head with glue") and the Sex Pistols song "I Wanna Be Me" ("Don't wanna be L7 I've had enough of this")."

nice insight above, that the L and the 7 can look good together.

Kind of looks like a 69 position. Or like Yin Yang, complements each other bringing spiritual harmony. 69 is good luck in Germany and most other countries. That domain is a winner.

O2 is huge.
Loads of companies callled T2.

First two names I chose were developed C5 and D7 (Division)

There are a bunch of LEVEL 7 names that could take L7, imho.

And R8 is a brand...

LN Dot Com is also quite rare and much preferred to NL - so the price is definitely reasonable, considering its a chip letter and number. If we take out the 0, 1 and 4 and the A, E, I, O, U, V this is how it compares:

LN = 20 x 7 = only 140 in the world
LL = 20 x 20 = only 400 in the world

So at $60k, LN Dot Com compares quite favourably in price with an LL Dot Com that might go for 7 figures, at least when it comes to rarity.

Who cares about Chips when it is about LN? All examples above were western and had nothing to do with Chinese pinyin...

L4.com would sell for $60K at least, as well...

The only discounted one would be probably 0, because it looks like o and it is hard to make something meaningful out of "nothing".

I like this domain, if i had the funds i would have bought it at $60k, stuck it in my portfolio and let it gather e-dust for 5 years or so and then sell for high 6 figures/low 7.

I think 60k are the sort of prices people was paying for NN domains around 2009ish, a lot of them now go for 7 figures - When you see what L7 can stand for (as people say lucky 7) and how good it looks visually i don't see how it can lose value unless .com itself crashes.

Its a big undersell. Dunno why this seems complex to some.

The problem is the guys that know the value of this did not have extra 60K+ to spend at the time )))

No reserve auction might end up with big sale or vice versa..
