I searched out all the threads and there isn't an officially designated .xyz thread so how about this one to cover the subject?

So to start off my first xyz reg is:

May have little value if any but I like short domains as possible that I can get in new extensions and with majority of numbers taken I figured why not for the low reg fee right now. Plus it sorry of rhymes.

I wonder how this might affect other short .xyz domains. I'm looking at my CCC with repeating numbers/letters with lots of love and affection today.

When I regged mines, I think it was about 6-8 weeks ago, it was about 25% of CCC still left (and I guess that included LLL and NNN long time gone). I got there in time to get beautiful patterns and several nice prefixes too.

Really surprised at the speed they're being bought now.

Only 1 reported sale over $1,000 this month via Namebio. 1. For an extension with 2.2+ million regs. It's been well over a year and a half since they've been available to the public.

I see 0 llll.xyz sales via Namebio.

There are now 13 registrars where you can get them for under $2 which would account for the high reg numbers, according to - https://namestat.org/xyz

So actually looking at (reported) sales, since reg numbers don't put money in your wallet, there's not much really happening.

Not in what I quoted, I don't see any mention of .com. You asked if these had any value, then listed a bunch of .xyz. If they were .com, yes they would have value.

Now the base is .com. Obviously we compare the value in .com only. If its good in .com, its fine.

I don't even know what you're saying. Are you saying if the keywords have value in .com, they have value in other extensions? Or something else?

No, not necessarily. Especially the keywords you have. Again, study the market. There is talk of reg numbers all day long, sales zzzzzzz. I've had actual premium keywords in other extensions, unitedstates, electronics, dating, holland etc, that I couldn't sell for over $100. They were crappy extensions, great keywords.

Great keywords, great domains. 2 different things. I do get it. If you go with other extensions, you want to get the best keywords you can. It makes sense to do that, it's just that the extension can really kill the value sometimes.

Are you saying the value of domains are based on their .com counterparts? While that's somewhat true, it doesn't come close to representing the entire domain market.
