Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Since VR is 'trendy', maybe a term seen as trendier could be a better direction(?) Eg. Maybe something with 'hub' in it, or maybe even 'talk' - if 'talk' hasn't also lost some of its shine and might continue to do so(?)

i agree
why connect new with old
let's disconnect new from old

True!

Maybe a "Metaverse" domain can be applied here.

Okay. So who's squatting on VRMetaverse com? :)

A further thought - when naming, think of what might be One thing that Especially could give such a site a real competitive advantage in certain ways. Then think about naming in that direction.

Eg.: I registered iTalkVR(com) awhile ago, with it having a double meaning of 'Innovation talk about VR'. Focus being on innovatively pushing VR ahead, not just discussing which game is better or who is the better player.

If memory serves, didn't one of the interviewed domain sherpas mention in a recent Domain Sherpa video that the term 'forum' is slipping in its usage value - that it might have started to become outdated some? Maybe it was Adam Dicker?

Outdated yes, a lot of traffic switched to social media, a transfer that Google seems to be supporting.

Not that those things couldn't be discussed as well. But they wouldn't be the key market positioning message for such a site as that.

Had VRgametalk.com in my cart yesterday. Went to play golf and went to reg this morning and was gone. Who grabbed it?

That man must be a genius, a "games forum" will be called "games chickens".

picked up 2 regs today... one to mark the day of our new sale standard for vr domains... the robotday lol
if memory is well for me, I think this highest sold public known vr domain so far.. congratulations.
this marks my first and probably last vr reg with a dash in it.. they obviously suck.
but then I saw vr-xxx vr-porn and few more all gone too.. so I thought to myslef.. ah why the heck not.

I guess if vrobot sells 11k today, it will sell 50k in 5 years.. good investment!

and my 2nd reg is.. msg=message.. and I hope I am not the only to know this abbreviation.. lol

vr - robot
vr msg

happy hunting

I was really surprised that this got 11000 and VRxxx.com only got 10000. I think VRxxx could have been worth alot more in a year.

Edit: Luckily my VRxxx.xxx is still for sale ;)

Oops. :)

I've been registering a # of 2 word VR related domains the last few days, so didn't pick on just that one.

I am not aware that there is "international brands" under that name which has effect in Spain.

I do not know much about trademarks, but I think this is about you selling it to some other place or buyer where there could be trademarks. so its not about where you live, but potential buyers. if I understand well what is ahppening here.

I have consulted all the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and any of those international brand names is effective in Spain, anyway, thank you for the warning.

Dot com is not the exclusive domain of a country, I have bothered to look gamezone with different TLDs and not think there is any problem.

Thank you very much your concern.

Saludos,
Mario.

P.S., This is a somewhat delicate to speak at a forum not sure what is said matter.

I also try to avoid, just register generic domains and in no time I try to take advantage of a brand, the proof is the large number of domains with the word "zone" I reg because it seems optimal for vr.

VRCOMBATZONE
VRWARZONE
IVRZONE
MOBILEVRZONE
VRDATINGZONE
VRGAMBLINGZONE
VRGAYZONE
VRLEARNINGZONE
VRSEXZONE
VRSHOPINGZONE
VRSHOPZONE
VRSPORTZONE
VRSPORTSZONE
VRTRAININGZONE
VRTRAVELZONE

Saludos y gracias de nuevo,

sooner or later this stuff should be worth some money

but anyone with vr+2kw domains vs 1kyword domain, will need to wait bit longer to see sales.
in my view

with few exceptions of course.. like multilplayer.. etc.. but I guess that's not truly a 2kw thing.

What you said is ringing bells about what the sherpa (Adam Dicker?) said about it.

I'm a wrong person to talk to when it comes to being involved in social media, but how about VRGab and VRGossip, VRGameGab and VRGameGossip in dot com. I'm thinking gabbing and gossiping will remain popular(?) :)
