For a Spanish .es Domain Is the Domain Name of Higher Value in Spanish than English?

The same question can apply to any foreign country code. For example, Coche is the Spanish word for car. If you had to choose between registering Coche.es or Car.es which would you choose, the Spanish word or the English word? Would the number of letters of the words come into play?

Also, lets say the Spanish Word only was available as a .Com. If you only had one choice would you register Coche.com or Coche.es?

Thanks for your input.

I would not register English keywords .ES even though on rare occasion they do sell. Spanish commerce-related keywords in .ES do sell but .ES is still primarily for Spain whereas .COM continues to be the global extension. I have sold Spanish .COM domains to buyers in Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the US (keep in mind there are fifty million Latinos in the US).

Note that Coche is used primarily in Spain whereas Carro is used more in Latin America.

I would definitely go with Spanish word.es. Unless the English word is commonly used in Spanish or you are selling a brandable name you should always go with the native language of THE country code.

Oh and BTW even in Spain if you can get the .com, that is better than the .ES. My second option is always the .ES though, better than net, org, info, etc

Don't forget to that mexico also speaks Spanish,so the dot com can be multi purpose in these cases. At last count, doing some research,I found world wide, that there is over 250 million Spanish speakers(first language) so a VERY large number of people.

Oh,and don't forget, that there are a few words spoken that are spelled the same in English,Spanish, and others,so if your going to use .es try to find those words, then you have cross sales potential.
