  • As many people watch this thread to be notified of new codes, please keep discussion to other threads. This isn't a suitable place to discuss the pros and cons of GoDaddy's service, though such posts are certainly welcome elsewhere.

Important Note
Please note that this thread is only for information that directly leads to discounts at GoDaddy.

If you are looking to discuss the recent changes to GoDaddy's promo code policy, please use this thread.

If you have been banned from GoDaddy as a result of alleged promo code abuse, please use this thread.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
They are probably testing to see what affect it will have on sales.

Given that other places offer it for free, this may be sending customers who need privacy, away to other registrars.

Or worse, people who might not realize it's no longer free, add it in and do a quick checkout without realizing they're paying for it.

I vote for the latter case....

$7.97 out the door .info renewal:

gdx347de

Working as of 7:00PM PST 8/24

that's now expired

The promotional code you entered is expired or inactive

I tried various codes to renew .info, .net and .com and the GDBBREN8 was still the best one.

I did a Google search for "GoDaddy domain", clicked on the first advertised link, & got a .com reg'd for $2.95 + ICANN. The code - gofg2001ha - is still in effect when I log in, but I don't know how many domains I can reg with it. Hope it works for you.

Been meandering thru the codes trying to find a renewal for a mx. Yes, i know you will ask why on earth would anyone want to renew a mx, but it is a good one. Anyway hit a little savings with gdx347de. Got it down from A$49.99 to A$32.49, a saving of A$17.50. I think the exchange rate is about the same or our dollar is a little stronger so should be similar for US dollars.

What's going on with the $0.99/$1.99 registration codes? It seems to me that we haven't had one in a month. :)

Ditto here. Any luck?

What does transfer mean? Does it mean that by using the discount code i can transfer the domain from dynadot to godaddy for that amount with the next year fee paid?

I've always found it odd how registrars always say you get the free 1 year extension when you pay for a transfer.

Isn't it a given? Are there any registrars who don't?

Yes it is a given, there are no registrars that don't. It's just the lingo... a bit like saying you get 1 year warranty with that new tv.

Actually, if you already have time left beyond a year at the current registrar, you sometimes lose time when transferring to a new registrar, as they will only transfer part of the time you have on the current registration. Or, at least I know it used to be that way; I haven't tried to transfer a name that had multiple years registered in advance recently, but I know that in transferring a large list of names from name.com and enom years ago to godaddy, I lost on the ones that had multiple years. Seems to me they took everything over 2 years, but I can't seem to find any info on it now.....but I'd keep it in mind. I had several names that were registered for 5-8 years in advance and I lost quite a few years at first. Luckily, I'm a VIP at godaddy and they agreed to compensate me the years (don't be afraid to ask), but unless things have changed you don't always get that extension of a year.

GDBBREN8 just worked for me for 8.67 total cost renewals on .com and 7.68 for .org renewal. Cheaper than any of the other renewal codes listed for the last several days. The only one that came close was BACON3, which had the same cost for .com, but was almost 12.00 for the .org renewal.

A year will always be added on, unless you are at the max (10 years for a .com). In that case, you can't register beyond 10 years and you won't get an 11th year added on.

I transferred a domain recently and it now has an expiration date of 2020, and the years carried over just fine. I think you just hit a fluke situation for some reason.

If you transfer to Yahoo Domains (Melbourne IT), your Renewal Date will be the date when you transferred your domain to them. So if your domain expires on December 30, but you transferred your domain on September 30, they will auto-bill you on the domain renewal on September 30.

Unlike with Godaddy, if your domain expires on December 30, and you transferred the domain to Godaddy on September 30, your Renewal Date is still December 30.

In theory you pay a registrar to have it manage your domain, but, yes, the free 1-year ext is always included.
