BTW, I just tried to go to Leapfish to compare appraisal accuracy. I knew Leapfish would be less accurate than Estibot, but I wanted to post results here because I believe Leapfish is hurting the industry with it's wildly innacurate appraisals. Well... another great addition to estibot. Got to be honest. I use for auctions to see what the value could be of the domain.

Josh great tool... but i have a question,

I did a bulk check and one of my domains in my portfolio (pro700.com)came out valued at $1400 . The single domain check values it at $140

Is there an obvious reason for this? If it's within the threads sorry I missed it.

It's because they use a different algorithm - it also says so on the bulk tool page. The bulk tool is experimental, in early testing.

I hope to synchronize them, but the technical requirements for the bulk tool are more demanding because it has to be super efficient.

which do you consider to be more accurate? i.e can i start looking for a new car for my wife for christmas ! Or should I just plan on buying her a meal?

actually having just had a valuation of 30,000 in the bulk and 120 on the single , i think i can guess..

Automatic appraising is a business where there is a lot of variability due to the inherent unpredictability of domain name value, so sometimes the bulk tool is right, sometimes the single tool, sometimes neither

Vague enough? Well, I think the single appraisal tool is more accurate. It has a pretty good ballpark prediction value.

The bulk tool is useful for getting a quick look at your domain lists - the good ones usually stand out.

I have not been able to get the domain extractor tool working yet....anyone else having problems with it?

I started reading this thread yesterday and have only read a small part of it so far, but I was curious to see the estimated value of some of my domain names using Estibot. Here's a test I made that confused me a bit.

I wrote autoloanflorida.com and it gave me the following results:

Domain: autoloanflorida.com
Keywords (Autodetected) autoloanflorida
http://EstiBot.com BETA Valuation : Reg Fee

Then I wrote AutoLoanFlorida.com (Capitalized the names) and got the following results:

Domain: autoloanflorida.com
Keywords (User-Defined) auto loan florida
http://EstiBot.com BETA Valuation : USD 630

This method of capitalizing the words of my Domain name have made Estibot come up with 3 separate keywords (auto loan florida) where as using the domain name without capitalizing the words comes up with one keyword (autoloanflorida)

I tried the same 2 methods with aidsfocus.com and AidsFocus.com and gave me the same valuation: USD 1300

My question is. What method should I go by to get a more accurate valaution. Should I use with or should I use without capitalising the domain names, or does that depend on other factors?

BTW from the little that I've used, it appears to be a great tool.

Just make sure that EstiBot analyses for the correct keywords. Obviously, the keywords for autoloanflorida.com are "auto loan florida", so if EstiBot gets it wrong, just use capitalization, just like you did.

The results are most accurate when the correct keywords are used. EstiBot can detect the keywords automatically for most two-word English domains, but it does not always work so pay attention to which keywords are used.
I'm working to make the keyword detection better.

To be safe, you can always either capitalize or add a space to define the keywords.

Thanks for your help Josh. It makes sense. I've been putting some of my domains through Estibot out of curiosity and have come up with a few surprises, some positive, and some negative. I had no idea of the etimated value of my domains. It's been quite entertaining. In fact I feel richer now than what I was an hour ago.

As for valuating your domains, I'd say that EstiBot often hits the right ballpark in valuating domains, but - there is a big BUT - EstiBot assumes that a motivated buyer is found. As long as no such buyer is found, and no offer is received, the value of any given domain is only imaginary..

Are you sure that you have the right siftware on your pc like java and stuff. Because that can cause some problems.

ARRRGH! I realise where I went wrong now...I expected the tool to create domains from a block of text, I didn't realise there had to be domains already in there!
