Periodhost.com occured downtime recently (more details at the WHT post). This happened due to deleted kernel files, according to Periodhost.com this was a staff member (who purposely did it) - it's a lack of integrity and negligence.

They have now changed to another company:

Period Host has been taken over by Pixelled Solutions!
This web page will divert to Pixelled-Solutions in 30 seconds, to open a support ticket for periood host please go to http://periodhost.pixelled-solutions.com/

Imagine if these staff members are looking at personal information of the clients!

Seriously, stay away from this company.

:(

You can say that again. Backups backups BACKUPS. When will people learn?

most administrators know that its best to keep kernel images on a separate partition, and not to have this partition auto mount so effectively its hidden from userspace.

A deleted kernel image would have no impact on data anyway, the drive could at worst be mounted under another system and data copied.

Sounds like utter bullshit to me

PeriodHost.com works just for period! ;)

They take your money, close their server and run away. And of course start a new company. Be aware.
