I don't know what the significance of HG is. But there are 698 LLNNNN.com sales in our database $100+ and 328 of them (47%) start with HG so there must be some strong significance. Maybe it is in some way related to the 7-figure sale of HG.com?

This wasn't even the highest one as HG6777.com sold for $7,220 on NameJet in July of 2015. Also HG7778.com sold for $5,020 and HG3338.com sold for $3,709 both in April 2015. There are dozens more in the $2k - $3k range as well.

So in that context it doesn't surprise me too much that a number combination like 1234 was among the highest of these auction results, but it's still completely bizarre to me that these are even selling at all much less for these prices. Really curious what it means.

@Kassey Lee - Any insight for us?

Well there must be something going with these HG names because every combination is taken from 1 - 99, 001 - 999 and 0000 to 9999

I think I commented on HG related domains probably two years ago when some HG related domains were sold for high prices. HG stands for 皇冠 (crown) and 1234 is easy to remember. If my memory serves me well, such names were used for online betting.

@Kassey Lee Kassey a question please if one owns an EXCELLENT 3 pin name in both the .com and .cn is there any reason to register or buy the .net for brand protection? This is the type of name a large China or USA company would buy and use in China . Thank you!

p.s Id be happy to share the name in private

Please read my research on Top 100 and New 300 Chinese internet companies. Only a very small number of them use .net.

Of course, if the reason is brand protection, then you want to secure as many extensions as your budget allows.

@Kassey Lee By the way we also picked up the exact word for "blockchain" in Japanese in the .com
so we'll see if it works out with the Japanese being such major players in Bitcoin. Burokkuchen.com
