One thing that I did is that I checked .TV sales on namebio if they sell well (and yes, they do).

I have thought about it from a what is that .tv all about newbie perspective so here is my top ten potential FAQ

1.Why are people + (other domainers) buying these .tv's domain names?

2.Why has godaddy reduced the pricing down to 9.99 from the 39.99 it was is it promoting or failing and wants to flog them off cheap?

3.Will I get any direct nav traffic at all ? who types in .tv?

4.Is this just another hype on the back of youtube et al ?

5 Is this a chance to scoop up some keyword domains that I would never own in the .com extn cause they are just WHAYYYY to expensive now?

6.Is this a domain opportunity that I can sell to end users or resellers?

7. What will I do with the .tv domain(s) when I have it (them)? Park, develop, sell, hold, pray ?

8. Why do the big name investors - the proclaimed / revered dot com kings etc think that this is a is a waste of time extension and avoid it?

9. Can I afford to invest the necessary capital required either just purchase prices or dev + promotion included and wait for the market to see the potential - it could be a long haul Can I afford what is consideridered by many to be a speculative punt?

10 Re 9. If I can... what will these quality names that I have secured be worth in 5 to 10 years time ! am I going to be rich ? Is this the next big thing?

One good thing about .tv is that it is international - lots of countries around the world use tv as a meaningful word or understand what it is - not just english speakers

I am Hugely disappointed that not more of you have joined in what was promising to be a great and insightful thread started by HotNames. But what do we have? A huge amount of views and hardly any comments at all ..... ? Why ???

Do we just want to keep .tv just all for ourselves?? sorry folks but you guys make it seem that way! At least I made an effort to pose some potential FAQ's

Surely if Frank Schilling can share his views/ history & insight on .com then we should be able to offer some rationale into the whys or why not's for the .tv extension and it development/ resale potential??

Great .. Great keynote speech if you have nearly an hour to spare to listen to one of the industry gurus then .. sit yourself down , take the phone off the hook .. make a cup of tea, coffee, crack the tab on a beer or too or have a glass of wine it is truely insightful and worth the watch!

I found Frank Schilling's video speech interesting but not particularly enlightening. It was a story of how he did it which is interesting in itself but I didn't find he said anything particularly helpful for the future. One thing he did say was that he wasn't particularly inspired by all the new TLDs around.

This is the one that gnaws at me. I'd like to see a discussion on just this point. There seems to be such aggresive opposition to .tv in high places. I really would like to know their reasons. I've seen the term "repurposed county code" tossed around, but I can't see that as the main problem. In a few years that will be even less relevant. It's a boon for Tuvalu, as far as I have read. It allowed them to pave their first road! really good news for bikers. If anyone has the answer to this one, I'd love to hear it.

its not just .tv roger- they are just in one line of thinkin- it has made them a ton of cash and they walk that line- many look for names with such a high type in natural traffic- you really only get this from com-

but, there is the rest of the world going on out here- personally, let them play in the .com playground, plenty money to be made there for them- if they DID get involved with the likes of tv and others tlds, what kind of chances would the rest of us have as good names and sales?

what they say is not going to have an adverse effect- obvioulsy .tv is having its best year ever, eh? more to come too-
